Why on earth would that Big Red want hair the same color as Ronald McDonald?Thats what I think every time I see her.

On January 18th, one year ago, the Supreme Court of Canada made a decision: They found that Nicole Ryan (now using her maiden name of Nicole Doucet) had been acquitted of her admitted crime due to an error in law. The crime? Trying to hire someone to kill her estranged husband. The Supreme Court of Canada acknowledged that justice had not been served but put a stay on prosecution for a retrial because they felt Nicole had been through an emotional ordeal.

On January 18th, Canada judicially stopped caring about attempted murder when the criminal has a vagina. Because of her feelings. Because Nicole had been through a lot of stress and had lost weight. Because Nicole, a woman, was looking a little peaked.

While Men’s Human Rights Activists (MHRAs) know that women being absolved of responsibility for their crimes against men happens all the time, this case is unique. The Crown prosecutor, along with every legal professional versed in the case, presumably aside from the defence attorney, was shocked with the acquittal. The husband, Michael Ryan, was not called to testify because the prosecutor felt the case was a “slam dunk” and he didn’t need to subject Michael to the trial proceedings. And yet she was acquitted.

Nicole confessed to her undercover RCMP assassin that Michael had never physically abused her. Nicole’s accounts of the threats and fear she harboured were inconsistent. Nicole’s husband lived 180 km away from her at the time and had custody of their child because psychological assessments deemed Nicole less stable as a parent.

Nicole, prior to these events, also tried to kill her sister by running her over with a car. Twice.

But Canadian Justice David Farrar decided that Nicole, despite lacking any corroborating evidence, was telling the truth and acted in the only way any “rational” person would: by contracting the death of another human being.

Congratulations, Canada. Murder is now a rational choice. If you have a vagina.

Maybe because they know im joking and also I apologize later when I offend them also probably because there are some points I agree with them on like pro choice and equality. That is just my deduction anywho, either that or I am just lucky and been slipping through the cracks undetected.

In colleges across America, students accused of serious offenses that might result in long-term suspension or even expulsion are not permitted to have attorneys represent them by actively participating in campus hearings. This prohibition against lawyers is applicable even to cases involving sexual assault where, because of a Department of Education fiat handed down in April 2011, colleges must find a student guilty if a mere preponderance of the evidence (ever slightly more than 50%) supports guilt. That means that a college disciplinary board can have reasonable doubt, or very serious concerns, about whether a student is actually guilty but must still find him responsible if the evidence tips ever so slightly against him.

U.S colleges are becoming hostile to men

Lord Rennard resigned the party whip last year amid claims, which he denies, that he had made unwanted sexual advances to several women and touched them inappropriately.

The allegations were investigated by senior barrister Alistair Webster QC, who concluded they could not be proved beyond reasonable doubt.

One of the other complainants, Alison Smith, said: "The reason we pursued the Rennard issue doggedly is to change the culture for the future.

"Politics will only be a safer place for women if all parties make difficult choices and change from within."

Lanker-Simons was also a prominent blogger with nearly 60,000 followers and has received an award by Think Progress as one of their recognized “Golden Thinkrs” (apparently that’s their way to honor Tumblr bloggers). She dramatized the rape threat as much as she could, blogging about it continuously and saying on Tumblr:

These recent threats – it isn’t just about me. This is about all those people out there shamed into silence by sustained campaigns of aggression because those people, at one time, dared to exist and refused to be quiet. It reinforces rape culture and – as Smith writes – if we don’t talk about it, it doesn’t go away. It just finds a new target.

According to the Caspar Star Tribune, a Wyoming newspaper, “The police obtained a search warrant to search Lanker-Simons’ computer and found [in the police’s words] “substantial evidence” the threat was created on her computer while it was in her possession, according to a media release from the university” (see another news report here). She then confessed to submitting the post herself, and then retracted her confession.

"could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt" is a very far cry from 'there was no evidence' or 'the claims were false.'
