The same could be said of many religious people who don't critically study their scriptures and think that just by aligning with their particular religion they've chosen correctly and everyone else is wrong. What of the incredibly rich who claim to be Christian/religious and bear some hatred towards this or that other group in their hearts or force their own views on their employees? I can find examples of condescending people in every belief system.

Some are, others aren't so much, and people change over time. Can be hard to tell. Everyone looks like a person and all we really know is whether they act in accordance with our individual understandings of our beliefs and of others.
