At first, you appeared to be a political moderate.
Now you have raised your "True Colours".
Exquisite.
I have never claimed to be a moderate, I am super on the Left. What I suspect is that through some of my posts is that I appeared to be too moderate by willing to turn against someone of the "scary left" of suspect credentials, and this goes against what you think people on the Left are. That all your sources say that people on the Left are always unreasonable and reactionary.
My, my,
You are a presumptuous little fella, aren't you?
My incorrect initial appraisal of you was the result of our personal interaction.
I don't recall reading you admonishing people on either side of the political divide.
I was impressed by what I thought was playful self-deprecation when you called yourself a dumb 29 year old kid.
You earned brownie points from me by my misunderstanding your intent.
No matter. <shrug>
Misunderstanding is part of the learning process.
"Listen very carefully,
I will say this only once."
I am a non-partisan moderate conservative (who hates big business, btw. Refer to my signature).
"Listen very carefully,
I will say this only once."
I will remind you that I am non-partisan every time you imply I am not.
Why do I have a different opinion to you?
I don't know.
Perhaps it has something to do with my being twice your age.
Perhaps it is because I am non-partisan where you have clearly indicated you have hardcore left-wing affiliation/affinity.
Perhaps I reject groupthink and embrace individuality.
Perhaps it is because I have a different set of priorities in life than you do.
Perhaps I value the integrity of Truth rather than servicing a "Narrative".
Perhaps it is because I find "Cyclopia" amusing.
Perhaps it is because I have confidence in my reasoning ability.
Perhaps because I spent most of my life developing an objective mindset.
Or perhaps it is because I am so damn near close to perfection that it hurts.
Afraid of giving my own opinion?
I don't think so.
I started that format because one of the moderators was very biased against conservative content.
I don't want to poke "The Bear" any further for fear of renewed hostility. <EEP!>
Your post is simply too long for me so I will end my reply to you here.
I have limited time and cerebral energy.
I may continue at some other time.

Climate change deniers should just go live outside on Mars where they seem to think there's breathable air.
Seriously, you are picking fights with friends of a KID.
f**k this man that's so weak; I got nothing. I don't think you deserve any place on a site supporting ASD people.

This is new.
You making a personal attack on a WP member.
You are normally such a mild, considerate and fair-minded person.

Stop picking on Fnord, for goodness sake.

This is all the parts that confuse me. Do you actually believe all these things? Because the "I am so damn near close to perfection that it hurts" makes it sound like a joke, but where does the serious end and the joke begin.
Age does not mean wisdom, and you can say all you want that you are non partisan and only seek the truth all you want, it does not mean anything when you are pushing a bunch of narratives of people who are exclusively on the right. I am not even sure if you understand what nonpartisan even means, especially when major parties are characterised by being conservative or progressive. Do you actually think that the Labour party is just as conservative as the Liberal party?
When I said that I was a dumb 29 year old I was trying to show some humility, not say that you must be a genius. I admit that I have a lot to learn on different subjects, because only a fool thinks that they are always correct and know everything. Ironically, I think that I might be even be opposite of you in a core way, you are a conservative who hates big business, while I am a progressive that actually kind of likes big business, specifically in the potential it can have in doing good if properly regulated (I have a bachelor of business, and would like a corporate job). If you are nonpartisan, then so am I.
Your calls that you are just a truth seeker implies that others are not, and just narratives, especially if they contradict your own view. But I think you don't realise that you are the one who is repeating narratives, echoing what partisan news sources tell you to think, and then say you are a free thinker. Why else are you buying into the narrative of the article at the heart of this thread was set up to snipe at a girl that made every right wing party that watched the climate conference lose their minds?
How in the world do you see a sentence like "teenage Climate Puppet has gone full Marxist" from Breitbart of all places, and think you are being a nonpartisan truth seeker. That equated a statement about climate change not just being an environment problem, but a social problem that includes things like human rights and old broken patriarchal systems, to being Marxist, which it uses like a dirty word. Did she use the word Marxist? Do you even know what that means other than what rightwing news articles tell you it means? What she said and taking it the way the article from Breitbart said it meant, would be like reading what Scott Morrison said about making coal mining an Australian priority as Orwellian, a step to forcing people into being a perpetual working class to the ruling elite.

They may not be old enough to have a decent view, climate cycles are longer than the average human lifespan. I've been reading recently about the years 1906, 1911 and the years either side and inbetween. Although not framed by cool NASA satellite data or 24/7 news coverage, the reports are remarkably reminiscent of the last few years we have lived through, if not worse. Heatwaves, droughts, occasionally interrupted by extreme episodes of rain. As always, retain an open mind.
Entrenched interests are certainly a factor, but the main impediment to radical change like this is democracy. Once a nice green-thinking person gets into power, they learn sooner or later what a truly green agenda would entail and the drastic drop in living standards that would be necessary. They realise pretty quickly that enacting the change would guarantee a loss in the next election followed by the swift undoing of any changes they made. So they choose popular half-measures like solar and wind and try to hide the fact that these sub-par choices guarantee that we will be burning fossil fuels for the next century or two.

Maybe, if someone seems fair-minded, and all of a sudden changes in response to you, perhaps it’s YOU who are the problem.
Just looking at the overall tenor of your posts, you seem like someone who is very full of yourself, and you often have a mocking attitude toward the other posters.

It is why the only way to hope for major change is to have a plan and agreement across many different countries as to stop any particular one trying to go backwards for economic gain. We are talking about comprehensive green plans that say a way can be found, but it is met by opposition that denies science and are unafraid of even going back on promises by saying it was a bad deal and try to scapegoat with other countries.
The only ways is to perhaps be able to find a symbol, such as a representative of a future generation that will shame those in power for their inaction. Which is met by those of power and against the symbol shaming them, trying to slander her in any way possible. You also have people who do not understand what they don't know, then pushing that slander, not realizing that they are a tool to continue a status quo into a future that people don't care about over what they can get now.
