Well, between who, and exactly for what reasons?

Our country is full of narcissistic a**holes. It's why Dump is so popular. American culture is rotten to the core. It's what happens when money rules. America is a business, not a country. Yet most people can't see what happened because both wings of the moneyed ruling class are in denial of the monster they created. Good f*****g luck.

One of the main reasons, possibly the primary one, why Trump is popular, is he is providing jobs.
He is bring manufacturing back to America, and creating a climate, via tax reductions, where it is easier for manufacturing, in America, to compete.
I think that is a good thing, not just for America, but for Australia, also.

Trump claims he's doing all of that, but it seems he's having as much success with that as with building his racist wet dream wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for.

America was doing well before the CV.

Trump had been left with medical know how meant to provide readiness for a pandemic like this by Obama. But Trump not only dismantled all that purely out of vindictive and childish reasons to erase his predecessor's legacy, but he also called the virus a hoax, losing precious time that could have been used to stay ahead of the problem. Now, my country has become ground zero for Covid19 because of Trump's blatant narcissism and anti-intellectualism.

Yup.

I think this might be my 4th time saying:
Trump was shambolic in the initial stages of the CV crisis.

But here is the rub.
He isn't the only one.
Italy, England, Spain, Iran were also, in hindsight, pathetic.

You can see that, right? 8O

with competent leadership we may have avoided the worst of this, nipped it in the bud, rather than this s**tshow we got now.

I wasn't saying it "makes it alright".
I was giving some perspective.

Quote:
Understanding Confirmation Bias

A confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias that involves favoring information that confirms your previously existing beliefs or biases

Confirmation biases impact how we gather information, but they also influence how we interpret and recall information. For example, people who support or oppose a particular issue will not only seek information to support it, they will also interpret news stories in a way that upholds their existing ideas. They will also remember details in a way that reinforces these attitudes.

The Impact of Confirmation Biases

In the 1960s, cognitive psychologist Peter Cathcart Wason conducted a number of experiments known as Wason's rule discovery task. He demonstrated that people have a tendency to seek information that confirms their existing beliefs. Unfortunately, this type of bias can prevent us from looking at situations objectively. It can also influence the decisions we make and can lead to poor or faulty choices.

Unfortunately, we all have confirmation bias. Even if you believe you are very open-minded and only observe the facts before coming to conclusions, it's very likely that some bias will shape your opinion in the end. It's very difficult to combat this natural tendency.

That said, if we know about confirmation bias and accept the fact that it does exist, we can make an effort to recognize it by working to be curious about opposing views and really listening to what others have to say and why. This can help us better see issues and beliefs from another perspective, though we still need to be very conscious of wading past our confirmation bias.

Yup,
You could have done better, for sure.

It would have help if the ccp and the W.H.O were honest about what was happening in Wuhan.
It was more important for the ccp to hide the fact, so they could hoard PPE throughout the world.
I hope the world sues the crap out of those bastards.

Had we a leader with the intelligence and capability of a Barack Obama, the worst of this would've been avoided, at least in America.

offering a different insight here ... am of a generation prior to the net, but was on the cusp of it especially since having time in older larger mainframe eras of computing , have watched as this progressed .. And Covid set a conveinent stage for all the parts of the world that have enough technology to be able to stand up to the larger one world gov type of thinking . Within masses of the population centers . Now because the net freedom issue was corrupted by Governmental bodies. Covid has made tech advanced persons more reliant on the net .. So they willing offer up even more private info to the net
Big Gov is practically in your bedrooms .. If you oppose big Gov and you ever used google . Your movements are tracked, if you seek connection through any server that conjoins any google Apps or App subsets ,, you are tracked . You now are easily identified by any big governmental bodies... Now Add Google earth to the equation . In Real Time. The common populace is barely exposed to the level of Technology avilable now .
If you have a outta control virus , were do people look to for direction much less protection..
Big Government all your records are accessible online , everyplace you actually turned on your portable devise , markets, big business, google excetera have built a profile on you , Facebook , round up all your friends or sympathizers. Based on your habits your apps your visits to locations , even make suggestions to bait you into spending money ,, this would imply a psychological profile , Your medical weaknesses are public to big pharma and business .. There will be no revolt , no revolution , just a soft whimper amongst those that are willing to open their mouths ... This is our reality Now..

Just Offered as a possible reality . And please do not consider this a fear mongering but rather a casual observation of a introspective Techy type Older aspie .
Apologies to any that may consider this offensive.

Trump is an idiot and made things worse and it would be for the best if he would just shut up.

Because 50 percent or so of COVID-19 patients are asymptomatic and most others are cases resemble mild flu or a cold and this is highly contagious COVID-19 could not have been nipped in the bud.

Neither Obama or any President would have dared order a lockdown in February with a few diagnosed cases. At the time there were a lot of undetected undiagnosed cases due to lack of testing. Singapore and South Korea did get testing and contract tracing up faster than us. In S. Korea the outbreak was centered at a church and Singapore is a small city-state so it was easier to roll out testing and contract trace then it is in the US.

But who put him there?
I'll tell you.
The corrupt political aristocracy.

Ordinary people had enough of the deception, manipulation and self-interest of the established political parasites.
Trump didn't win the elections,
