I had not noticed that,so people put the label on themselves, this gets more bizarre by the moment.I don't watch video's or TV programs by any of these people, about three or four of these people Iv'e heard of but never heard the expression intellectual dark web.Does everyone in this so called organization embrace being called that or just the founders you mentioned.

Neither they, nor the founders, take it seriously enough to take offense to being associated with the label, it was mainly there to just put a pin on the cultural cork board so people could have a two or three word name for their group or something about what they're getting at, ie. silenced topics.

The reason they'd put labels on themselves is simple - most adults these days have the attention span that seven or eight year old children had back in the 1980's. You need a really bright, pleasing rattle that makes really exiting noises to get their attention. If you don't give them that sort of hyper-stimulus they won't know that you exist or that what you're doing is actually a thing, and the problem there - if people don't know that you're there the quality or merits of what you're doing will never matter.

So people take a whole bunch of people who say various controversial things that are not always in congruence with each other and put them in one category and give them a name.An edgy controversial name intended to be edgy and controversial.

So now we have neologism, the intellectual dark web.Does any of this make sense,I don't think they can be put in one category if there not in conspiracy to teach or promote the same ideals. It is true that in a conspiracy the left hand doesn't have to know what the right hand is doing, they must be acting in the furtherance of a common cause.I don't see that happening here.

It's my opinion the IDW is a fictional entity.

It was an attempt to have a free and open discussion.
The experiment collapsed due to financial mismanagement.
Pity.

So what is the IDW? It is what a stupid person imagines that smart people are like.

One of my favourite insults, especially as it's targeted more towards the fanbase. I largely agree with your assessment, but allow me to plant the smallest seed of unprovable conspiracy.

Controlled opposition.

I agree. I imagine most people here wouldn't understand what you are talking about though given the degrees of conformity to system-approved thinking that are evident on this sub-forum. I mean, most people on this sub-forum probably still believe things like "Russia hacked the US election" and "Assad gassed his own people in the middle of a war he was winning" and "antifa don't really exist".

I can still remember the first time I ever came across Jordan Peterson. I was on a brand new laptop and decided to visit youtube, and there on the front page before I'd even logged in I could see youtube advertising Jordan Peterson videos to me. A few weeks later I witnessed the media promoting him as some sort of dangerous dissident. Now several years later with all the genuine dissident videos and whole channels that have been removed from youtube, youtube are still trying to shove Jordan Peterson videos in my face. "Controlled opposition" is the most obvious conclusion to draw.
