how does one know they are in fact "deprogrammable"? were the nazis in ww2 deprogrammable? how many of them simply blended back into the woodwork?

Yes, they were. Germany was made into a close ally and integrated into the global order. Guano Americans ultimately need to be re-integrated. It doesn't mean the insanity they spew needs to be accepted, but it means that openly embracing fantasies of war with them doesn't help anything.

The Florida Fisheries and Wildlife authorities have a posted a $50,000 reward to find the MAGAs who cruelly scrawled the word "Trump" on the back of a gentle (and endangered) sea mammal called a manatee

When it comes to WWII Nazi Germany, not all of them were reprogrammable. Regular German men that were forced into the war could usually be reprogrammed successfully. However many of the hard core SS officers never changed their minds or behaviors. Once captured, they would still show their dark side in internment camps with their fellow countrymen. I have an old book about the Nebraska/Kansas internment camps that specifically talk about this issue. They could hide it, but they really never changed their ways in private. Argentina was a haven for the Nazis that escaped because they aligned with the dictatorship principles ruling at the time in South America.

It is sad to see us spiral downward toward the edge as a country. I have to deal with non-sense behavior by both friends and family members who still support Trump as a president. My own mother is one of them. She will never claim that Biden will be president, because in her mind Trump will still be the one in charge. At what point do you just give up hope in changing them?
