Do you actually mean an Internet where ableist, genderist, racist, and sexist ideologies are left unchallenged?  Are you really just looking for an Internet echo chamber where the only other people in the room are those who agree with you?  That kind of Internet?  Trump was not "silenced"; he was dismissed from an Internet-based social site for abusing it and violating its terms of service.

That kind of Internet?

Here in Australia, twitter is referred to as "a left-wing echo-chamber", in some quarters. 8)

You're saying that because I support moderated content on a gimmicky website full of clickbait I'm worse than an administration who generalized an entire nation as rapists & murderers only to kidnap their children. :(

Bummer.

I'm supporting the persecution to the fullest extent of the law of the most violent president we've had since Andrew Jackson.

Justice will be served.

There in Australia, police brutalize people for being disabled and for failing to make eye contact.

What people call a technology & what people do with a technology have nothing to do with the volume of information broadcast by that technology. The only reason the internet is usable at all is simply because we don't endlessly put up with this "why can't I speak freely as a dickhead" debate.

Is it me or are the MAGAs just looking for a "safe space"? 8O

Persecuting a president for crimes is completely irrelevant to this conversation.

How so? The NY prosecutors will have unrestricted access to backup archives of everything he said.

It's relevant if the things he posted, or encouraged/elicited from his supporters, on twitter are criminal.

Really?  The ableist, genderist, racist, sexist president who used Twitter to spread his ignorance and hatred, his repeated lies about the severity of the covid crisis, his repeated lies about his involvement in the coup attempt on Congress, and his repeated lies about his election loss as well, is exactly what this thread is all about.

I thought we were talking about censorship on social media. Hmmm.

Whats happening is all of the ills of the system have been transposed onto one bad symptom. If we continue to bury our heads, we'll get a worse symtom few years down the road, and the cycle will keep repeating. This country is circling the drain.

Just say you have no problem with plutocracy, then there's no need for further conversation.

Interesting non-sequitur.

Actually you quite simply have no clue how webware products get built. I have a few on my resume.

The fact is that we are talking about whether or not Twitter manipulated an algorithm to silence Donald Trump.

Did you not read the subject line, or are you trying to divert this discussion away from the truth?  Donald Trump was not "silenced" -- there are other means by which he can make his voice heard -- he was dismissed from Twitter after having abused and violated its terms of service.
