The APA are a scientific body that oversee regulations and standards in professional practice and research.
Not so much anymore. Like most things in America, they have become politicized.
Now should I need professional help I have got to worry if the clinician is going to assume my main problem is that I am a privileged white male who is too stupid to realize my systematic privileges. Should I be in such a vulnerable state that I need their services that is the last thing I need.
I mean, that's possible, But you have to understand the demographics of professors who are highly qualified graduates (particularly in elite universities) who tend to come from upper socioeconomic backgrounds with plenty of money to throw at fee paying courses to get certified. To become a clinical psych you need to to do supervised practice and often need t pay to get that experience,
I can tell you from experience these people are not woke.
