The very people who are bemoaning "cultural appropriation"-----probably "appropriated" something from other cultures at least ten times in their lifetimes without even knowing it.

I feel something like Morey Amsterdam claiming ownership over calypso/Caribbean folk music lyrics, and making money off of them, is problematic, though.
I agree kraftie. And honestly some truly beautiful things were born out of cultures borrowing ideas from each other over thousands of years.
To not allow this is merely just a form of segregation imo.
