The dangers of Atheism
[opinion=mine]
The bottom line is this: There is no greater danger from atheism than from religion. Any alleged 'danger' imagined by religionists arises out of fear that they have been fooled into believing myths in exchange for their money, time, effort, and dignity. It also arises out of fear that they are confronting Evil Incarnate.
To a religionist, atheism represents rebellion against their gods; which, in some religions, is associated with diabolical beings and forces. Thus, to believe there are no gods is (to a religionist) tantamount to embracing those same diabolical forces and beings. To a religionist, there can be no denial of both God and Satan -- you follow either one or the other, and there is no neutrality possible.
This is why religionists become angry -- even enraged -- when confronted with atheism. This is why religionists express hostility (instead of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, et cetera) toward any person, institution, or ideology that does not fully embrace their gods. This is why there are gun-toting Christians, and Muslim suicide bombers -- they genuinely believe that their way is the only correct way, and that all others are fit only for slaughter.
They live by fear, and not by faith.
