In June 1914, he secretly directed the Austro-Hungarian Empire to launch a war against Serbia, triggering the First World War.

Its quite bad when he (Trump) directly quotes Adolph Hitler
https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/ ... r-00132427

And his late ex-wife said he keeps quotes from Hitler in his drawer

You know something? I'm started to really hate this saying because it's really nothing but a textbook example of victim blaming.

Did the Germans really deserve a leader like Adolf Hitler? Did the Jews and Romani people in their country who were put to death in concetration camps deserve what was done to them? Not to mention any German who was gay or disabled in any way? No country deserves a monster like that and I don't care how stupid the people who support their rise to power are. :?

Some parallels. The German people blamed the Weimar republic for bankrupting Germany and erroneously blamed reparations paid to the allies after WWI (the actual reason was the malaise in international trade following the US stockmarket crash in 1929).

Hitler took advantage of public dissatisfaction and blamed the Jews for forcing Germany to pay reparations and several other blatent lies. The ethnonationalism Hitler offered garnered 1 in 3 Germans to follow the Nazis by 1933. That was enough for Hitler to use his brownshirts to destroy Germany's opposition.

Trump in that respect is far more successful. He blames migrants, trans people and for teaching black history in schools for US problems using the same language as Hitler. Except Trump gets far more popular support from the Americans than Hitler ever got from the German people.

The problem is not Trump. It's the American public who vote for him.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who sees that Biden was merely the lesser of two evils.

His current popular support is so far down that he's guaranteed to lose the 2024 election if he ran. What's worse is there isn't a suitable democrat to run against Trump. The Democrat's only hope is that Trump is jailed before the election.

In regard to your last sentence: I couldn't agree more. Trump is the embodiment of the negative side of American existence, made flesh and come to life.

Trump was being advised in 2015 by Steve Bannon a known far right neo-Nazi sympathiser and anti-semite.

The peculiar thing about American elections is, the unexpected should never be discounted. Harry Truman was supposed to lose, and lose big, but he sailed back into office. It's almost a year till the next election, and anything can happen.

Yes and Hillary was also supposed to win in a landslide. But no landslide wins (or wins) for the democrats if Joe or Kamala run for office.

All Americans don't support Trump and we're not all terrible subhuman beasts responsible for every bit of evil in the world. Sorry to really disappoint you guys about that.

Apparently because that's all you ever seem to go on about.

75 Million voted for him in 2020, that's a big segment of the voting public (close to 50%) . Hitler only had 1 in 3 eligible voting Germans actually vote for him.
