So you would restrict the liberal's freedom to complain because you feel they have nothing to complain about?
I'm going to have to answer that question with another question.
Do you believe people have the right to state a fallacy as the truth?
Do you believe someone has the right to think that 1+1=3?
Do you believe that someone has the right to think the sun is green?
1. It depends. Some lies are neccessary, others not.
2. That two individual units can make three?
3. If they have no evidence/reason behind them and they're saying something which appears to be a total untruth, then it is very, very, likely that they need to be locked up in a nuthouse.
People have the right to think whatever they wish, "thought police" comes to mind when people are told what not to think. However, if people are judged not to be insane in their actions and dangerous, then by all means, they don't belong near sane people.

Some people feel oppressed in their day-to-day life. This is factually correct.
What if someone feels something that, objectively speaking, isn't true?
If you want to take the most extreme views, you can either say...
..that opinions are always correct and so, if he thinks it, it should be treated as fact
..or that it is so wrong that it should be against the rules/law to think such a thing*
Do you think, in fact, that all people are entitled to believe whatever they want regardless of whether their believe contradicts absolute truth?
*Even I wouldn't go so far as to suggest making laws to prevent "mindcrimes", for the record, mainly because I can't think of any way to make any rule regarding freedom of speech that doesn't endanger the most important kinds of it by setting a precedent. Sure, those idiots in Berkeley piss me off, but if the alternative is making it a crime to badmouth the Marines, I'd rather just tolerate the protest rather than make a branch of society criminally immune.

You can't say anything objective about another person's feelings. People feel the way they feel. There's nothing right or wrong about it. Besides, oppression can be a very subjective thing. Things are rarely black & white.

Does that matter? It is objectively true that they feel this way. Not only that, but technically you haven't proven that we are less oppressed. The other side has referenced explicit changes in the legal system that impact personal privacy as evidence(the Patriot act), and all I have seen you do is say that some individuals who think we are more oppressed have internal contradictions in their beliefs, which is not a disproof but rather a form of ad hominem. So, really, I don't see what your issue is as you have not proven the objective truth of your side, and especially since the original question is not one of objective truth but rather subjective feelings.

Well, are people free? If they are free then the question answers itself. Not only that, but people on all sides of the political spectrum accuse the other of believing things that stand against absolute truth, so I really don't see the issue. Liberty is the right to be wrong.

So...because we can burn the flag, but get tossed into Gitmo for speaking our minds about other things, we have complete free speech and shouldn't complain?
*facepalm*
Who has been thrown into Gitmo for 'speaking their minds'?
The above post is a perfect example of stupidity.
I'm sorry, Wile E. Coyote, Sooper Genius, but do you not know the difference between "did" and "can" ?

Yeah I'm real hurt considering the economic plight of the liberal support base compared to the wealth of the conservitives. Remove the inner city ghetto vote and dems would have no power base, they can only win an election to keep their mooch butts in power by buying the votes of ghetto dwellers.
Ghetto dwellers? Ghetto dwellers? Hmm. How do you feel about removing trailer park dwellers? If we removed the trailer park vote, would they have a power base? Or, do you they have to buy the votes of those who drive pickup trucks and live in a house mounted on blocks?
Ghetto dwellers! Ya'll Democrats sometimes make us Conservatives look human.

I'm not sure that Johnnie is a Democrat - and I believe that you mis-conjugated "y'all" - in this context, it should be "ya" or "youse". I take it you are not from the south?

LOL. Good on you monty!
I don't feel less free to speak my mind, but that's not to say I feel particularly free. I live in an area of Australia that's mostly conservative (to the point of being intolerant) and understandably, I have to keep my trap shut at times to avoid an argument. On a national level, I do feel that the actions of the previous government impeded on the populations freedoms, but to a lesser degree than in the U.S.

What part of Australia is that?

Meh! Trailer parks are ghettos too. They are just ghettos of a different color. Ghetto dwellers! Ya'll Democrats sometimes make us Conservatives look human.
Everybody buys votes.

In Texas it is spelled Ya'll or Y'all depending on who is writing. It would be the 2nd person familiar plural, similar to the Vosotros of Castillan Spanish. Why does having an extra pronoun that some forms of English lack have a negative connotation?

I think "ya'll" is 2nd person familiar singular. "All ya'll" is 2nd person familiar plural. Are you sure ya'll're from the south?

I think "ya'll" is 2nd person familiar singular. "All ya'll" is 2nd person familiar plural. Are you sure ya'll're from the south?
So, you think it is:
Code:
____________ Singular____________Plural
Formal_______you________________you
Familiar______ya'll________________ya'll
Formal_______you________________you
Familiar______ya'll________________ya'll
instead of:
Code:
____________ Singular____________Plural
Formal_______you________________you
Familiar______you________________ya'll
Formal_______you________________you
Familiar______you________________ya'll
Middle English is cool:
Code:
____________ Singular____________Plural
Formal_______you________________you
Familiar______thou________________ye
Formal_______you________________you
Familiar______thou________________ye
Spanish is more distinct though;
Code:
____________ Singular____________Plural
Formal_______Usted______________Ustedes
Familiar_______tu________________vosotros
Formal_______Usted______________Ustedes
Familiar_______tu________________vosotros
