Jesus was repeatedly ridiculed, and yet He was not ridiculous.
All the people who criticized Him were wrong,
despite their great number and high offices.

If you mean him as in Jesus, that is because they are fools and intolerant.

Can't say I know them well enough to form an opinion of them. Satan doesn't exist, neither do heaven and hell.

Don't doubt the existence of the Devil. The greatest trick the Devil ever played on man was convincing him he didn't exist. A belief in Jesus necessitates a belief in the Devil. There's at least one story about Jesus in wilderness, being tempted by Satan.

Although one can accept the possibility that someone existed that does not mean his delusions were confirmed.

Personally, I have doubts that either of those two people exist or even had existed. Either way, I'm not sure which one I would pick. If I chose Jesus, I'd send off the impression that I was a Christian; and if I chose Satan, I would give the impression that I was a Satanist. However, neither of those two have much of an impact on my life, so I won't vote.

the greatest trick man came up with was creating an invisible paternal figure that will punish you for all of eternity if you don't follow what the man who is supposedly the direct conduit says.

the greatest trick, by far, is religion. supposedly you can't disprove it because the definition keeps changing. it's interesting how in the literature, the god figure is always a very corporeal figure that directly addresses his followers and designated representatives and yet no such thing exists today.

i agree that jesus was most likely real because it'd be less likely for the religion to form without the initial person involved....but evidence of jesus' existence is pretty flimsy once religious texts are removed and historic records and archaeological evidence is used.

But if we were to go with what common delusions *cough* I mean religion says, then Satan is the one who gave us morals and rational thought, while Jesus punished is for his bad planning.

Satan, please  .

No need to say please. Chances are, you already have him.

I tell it like it is. Jesus roused people, and He did it deliberately.
He was not a troll, He was a truth teller.

Speaking the truth got Jesus killed, and He knew that it would.
And it didn't just get Him killed, but whipped, beaten, spat upon, and
excruciatingly executed over several hours.
Therefore, I would say that those who killed Him were the trolls.

I have the impression that Jesus was an Abbie Hoffmann type character who was against the rampant corruption of the then currently in power Jewish Temple. That being said, the situation with Jesus has led to an institutional deification of him which has long been as morally bankrupt and corrupt as the administration that he was opposed to, if not worse.

In other words:

Jesus= not bad
Jesus' followers= ineffectual, to misguided, to very bad

Jesus' followers were not ineffectual. If the original twelve had really been a bunch of duds, history would have forgotten them and their master. Jesus = not bad? I'm sorry you feel that way. But try not to disrepect.

Why do you think I go around this forum explaining Christianity and Jesus' teachings as best I can?
It's because I care about people going to Heaven, and because I DON'T want them to go to Hell.

ROFLMAO!

I find the notion that my rejection of Christianity is the result of Satan's influence to be both extremely offensive and a disgustingly backhanded way of explaining away criticism of Christianity (kind of like how Marxists explain away criticisms of Marxism as the result of "bourgeois ideology").
