Should the US have universal health care??
Yes it is the right thing to do everyone deserves health care. 71%  71%  [ 22 ]

Taxes duh I'm not an idiot as you are implying. :roll: I don't have a job I'm 19 but I do make money making things so anyways back on topic, america needs to wake up and fix the system. Being forced below the poverty line to get meds is horrible.


Only in America are you forced to live below the poverty line so you can get HIV drugs America is among the worst counties hell Cuba is better than us in so many ways.

Well then...get a job, pay taxes, vote, become a productive member of society. Gripeing about 'America' in general terms is not going to change anything.

Only in America are you forced to live below the poverty line so you can get HIV drugs America is among the worst counties hell Cuba is better than us in so many ways.

I think most people would agree that the US is imperfect, the issue is just how it is imperfect, and what reform measure would be better.

Well society should look after each other, that also means that in a way the richer people are looking after the poorer people. In a way it is kind of like a round about game of kings and slaves (card game). The rules are that who ever wins a round gets to be the king and who ever loses becomes a slave, second becomes a knight and second last becomes a peasent. the king gives there worst 2 cards to the slave and the slave gives there 2 best cards to the king, the knight gives there worst card to the peasnt and the peasent gives there best card to the kight. Now in my metaphore of health care the poorest are the king the second poorest are the peasent, the middle have no change, the second richest are the knights and the richest are the kings. Now the thing with america is that the richest might be smaller in nomber but they are rich in how much richer they are, so the richest must give quite a large percentage of taxes. Hope this makes sense.

Making things and selling them is a form of self-employment.

Bravo Bravo ^_^. 80% of the world's money is in the pockets of 1% of the population by making universal health care the money is redistributed ^_^. Now your going to say well the rich earned the money I disagree they didn't get that rich playing nice and following the rules they lied and cheated.

I don't like the concept of society much. I see individuals, each of whom have their individual purposes. The entire notion of society that you hold simply reminds me of the moral economy of an older era, where human existence was a matter of deference and paternalism, and I don't think much of regressing to such an old notion.

My vision is to see the world unite in a way kinda like we see in Star Trek the next generation not regress.

But isnt the idea of only looking out for oneself even older? Often a big diference with animals and humans is our way to work together and look after wach other.

I am not surprised, 60 million of the richest people in the Western world is a lot of people.

Ok, prove that the rich are rich because of an exceptionally low moral character. Frankly, I have heard that many successful people value honesty. Umm... I would cite the book "The Millionaire Mind" as I am certain it has a good statistic I would like, but I currently do not have access to a copy.

Yes humans are a caring race for the most part I would love to see us nurture that side of our humanity instead the side that wishes to obtain power and corrupt others. What happens to one of us trickles onward and affects the rest of the 6 billion or so people on the planet. So if a lot of good things happen then bam the other good things happen but if we nurture corruption and the lust for power bad things will ripple onward and things will get worse.

Not really. If you'll notice, early humans lived in tribes, and there is not a lot of individualism that tribes can allow.

Right, and that is science fiction and seems to be based upon economic notions that will never come true(the post scarcity society).

Depends on the particular sort of animal as to whether it is a social creature or a loner.

After the tribal period clans formed some were very big 300-500 people that is a lot back in prehistoric days. They had no choice look after one another or die those were the options.
