As an Ex Catholic, I would say to everyone here to just ignore these pedophile priests, the catholic
church is dead, and has no relevance in the modern world, its all about control with the church.

Ignoring a problem of this scope and magnitude won't make it go away. Justice is a holy virtue, is it not? Seek justice! Don't bury your head in the sand!

IMHO the corruption and defilement of the Catholic Church is among the Devil's crowning achievements. How better to destroy people's faith in God?

That's religion in a nutshell.

I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams...

Jesus wasn't a Zombie. He does not obey the basic tenets of being a Zombie. He talked, did not rot all over, nor have a penchant for brains. He didn't even eat the flesh of people still alive. Nor did he create more Zombies through the medium of anthropopophagy. (So many po in that word! How to stop spelling it!)

As for all this "Jesus was Horus" s**t. So maybe he was? We are talking about GODS here people. Omnicogniescent, Omnipotent, Omni-everything! (Yes, before you say it, I know.) GODS can do wtf they like, when they like, manifest as whatever the hell they want to be, wherever they want to. Gods. Godding around, doing god-stuff. To paraphrase Eric Cartman.. "I do what I like!" In other words... if Gods are real, there is no point arguing the technicality of being one or what they do, because of the nature of what they are.

Actually, the Catholic Church seems right in line with the OT and NT.

Protestants and Jews would disagree with that, especially when the catholic OT seem to differ from both, the protestant and hebrew bibles, and the rejection of the deuterocanonical books.

Atheism can't lead to homophobia, though. It has no doctrine, dogma, or tenants. Most major forms of theism DO have these things and expressly state that homosexuality is evil.

That actually depends quite a lot on the religion in question. The religions you've been exposed to, yes, that's true, but it's not true of religion in general. Check out a Time Life book called Sex and Spirit and also read up on native Americans' "two spirit". In at least one Indian tribe it was actually customary to raise one of your girl children as a boy and she would grow up and marry another woman. They were considered spiritually significant in that tribe.

Atheist also can't lead to any particular action...like dragging a young man behind a pick up truck until his eyes pop out, for example. For that level of crazy, you need religion.

I disagree with this too... People can be plenty psychopathic irrespective of whether or not they happen to be atheist. I don't think all instances of ethnic cleansing have been based on religion... probably a lot of them, maybe even most of them, but I don't think it's all of them.

1. Dude, the Zombie Jesus comments are jokes. The reason why people call him a zombie because after he died, he got right back up and walked around.
2. Jesus and Horus only have the vaguest resemblance. If you were to compare Jesus and another religious figure, the best one would probably be Buddha. A lot of Christian and Buddhist teachings are so similar, it's scary.

No.. really?

If he's the undead, he is a vampire... not a zombie. If people are going to take the piss, they need to try a little harder.

And my point still stands.. son of god.. he does what he wants...

Assuming Christ lived at all... He's only mentioned in a one book (guess which one) and he is strangely absent from every historical record of the time. Funny how Pilate kept records of everything BUT that one man's trial and execution... ;)

Why does no question the existence of Pilate himself? Just a thought.

probably for the same reason why you can't question the Holocaust- because of all the neat bureaucracy that surrounded them. it wasn't called the Roman Empire for nothing ;)
