The earth's magnetic poles may have begun to flip a while ago. Some scientists believe a shift is occurring and that is why the bees are dying. These scientists also believe that global warming exist and that is why the shift is taking place. The plate tectonics of California do shift toward the ocean. It is subtle, but we are moving. He could have meant that the process is in motion by the time he predicted.

The flipping of the poles is a perfectly regular phenomenon, and I have never heard anyone attribute it to global warming.

I'm going to address this as a whole now: the problem is that the criteria to prove or disprove the prediction are not clear. Evaluating the results therefore will fall prey to confirmation bias.

This is the central problem which plagues paranormal investigations. It may or may not be the case that the predictions are inspired somehow, but interpreting them is sufficiently murky that it is most parsimonious to assume it's something entirely mundane.

I'm looking at >>>Ganzfeld experiments<<< right now, which come the closest I think to looking at psi with decent methodology, but even there the methodology is suspect and the results debatable (and even if they weren't, the problem is that psi posits an explanation which need not necessarily follow given the evidence)

If you look at anything and expect magic, you're going to come up short. psi is just a natural phenomenon and should be viewed as such. To deny its existence is easy if you are expecting it to be accurate all the time. Why is it that we expect psychic ability to be so perfect and allow for error in all of our other faculties?

If you look at the healing archives, it is very hard to deny that there is something going on.
If you refuse to and only want to search for errors, then you are guilty of the Rosenthal effect.

Study of the ocean bottom for magnetic domains and their orientation shows that the poles have flipped several times in the last billion years. This is a normal occurance.

The poles have shifted, global warming happened many times, rain forests turned to deserts etc, I know this. There are some scientists who say that global warming is happening at an unnatural rate and this is shifting the poles more quickly this time. It's a theory that some scientists that are studying the bee problem are subscribing to. Anyway, this is off the subject.

Mr. Cayce's prediction specifically stated that the Earth's magnetic poles would have switched place and that the destruction of California by falling into the ocean were supposed to have occurred by 1998 - you would know this to be true if you had actually read the archives! The magnetic poles have been wandering and California has been having earthquakes since the Earth was formed, yet neither of these facts supports Mr. Cayce's prediction in any way whatsoever.

Mr. Cayce either deliberately lied or he convinced himself that he was telling the truth. So stop making up excuses, and explain why EDGAR CAYCE WAS WRONG.

I don't expect it to be flawless; I merely expect the hypothesis that it exists to make a prediction which can be tested. It is not that I even conclude it is false, but that until the above is satisfied it remains unsupported. I'm looking forward to seeing where the Ganzfeld experiments go.

Even if you go by the statistics, there will still be skeptics who claim that the participants are lying.
The Duke experiments are a perfect example of this. It's too bad that ideologies and emotions cloud the judgment of scientists as well as laypeople. If we could harness psi ability, it could be used for our benefit. We should never look to it as being magically correct, but just something on which to build upon.

There is no doubt that telekinesis, telepathy and precognition would be extremely useful and have large implications in science. Unfortunately they have never proved viable.

Slight correction: They have never been proven to even exist, much less be viable. There is no such thing as psychic ability.

There is so much evidence that psychic ability is real but some people refuse to accept it. Do you really think that the CIA would have created STARGATE if they had believed that there was no evidence that it existed?

There is a book called Pyschic Warrior by David Moorehouse that is about the remote viewing program and why is was shut down. It's a great book.

Dean Radin wrote a great research book on psi evidence.

There is a lot of evidence but I just wish I could find something about it in the Bible.

There are stories in the bible where Jesus speaks to people privately and reveals their deepest secrets. There was also a woman with whom he was speaking to and he revealed publicly the number of husbands she had. I bet that just talking about religion in the context of psychic ability makes some atheist skeptics irate enough to want to burn all the evidence.
