I guess we should abandon the idea of becoming a democratic people's republic as well since North Korea, one of the most rogue communist monarchies in the world, refers to itself as a democratic people's republic. It's NOT.

Socialism, communism, and capitalism are economic systems.

Democracy, republic (our actual system), monarchy, constitutional monarchy, facism, totalitarianism, theocracy oligarchy, etc are government systems.

Our current government passes laws and taxes that favor capitalism. They could also not do that. Literally, less government could create a more even playing field for various economic approaches.

From a political standpoint, the left wants more democracy and the right wants more theocracy.
