Indeed, but not just the ones who express it in the obvious, overt manner because there's a second model that often is less obvious, let's call it the covert form.
If the overt type is the physically aggressive needledick bully on muscle beach, punting 95lb weaklings in the sand the covert type are the guys who turn to doing that same thing only intellectually. Since most people aren't very intelligent or informed people like you or I (or many others on here, although some are brawnier than others) get away with those sorts of expressions of toxic masculinity.
Jeez, if need be a whole alternative definition of masculinity can be created by that person as a form of copium (take Marilyn Manson for example).
It's one thing to call out others toxic masculinity, it's another to have the self-awareness to start examining one's self with the same scrutiny.
There's at least one poster who would suggest we're both bullies for that pattern of behaviour, but he's
one of us as well, just slightly less effective, ignoring the ideological differences.
This is literally why PP&R is often a toxic s**thole. I don't deny I contribute, it's way too messy to dole out blame because it's widespread and almost certainly a reaction to formative experiences where we (the majority of male posters, but also others who internalize these attitudes) felt emasculated or weak or powerless. You've described plenty of those experiences over the years so I have empathy even if I don't have much sympathy when it's directed towards me. I'm not suggesting that I don't also engage in that, including towards you, by the way.
We all deserve a degree of empathy for ending up with that trauma, but not sympathy for the external expressions because it's not other people's problem so they're not fair even if they're hard to control or even recognize because of how normalized they are.
Since I've called nearly everyone out for that side I'll go ahead and concede I'm also probably at least as bad on the overt side as anyone here as well, even if somehow I missed my serving of vicious misogyny.
