If abortions are outlawed, then only outlaws will have abortions.

Stop trying to equate abortions to the right to bear arms in order to try to justify mass murder.

So, you favor the right to bear arms in order to try to justify mass murder.

You cannot deny the truth of my statement.

Only outlaws do that which is outlawed.

Abortion is not self-defense, it is premeditated murder. A firearm is a tool that can be used for good or ill.

Open message to Inuyasha:

A lesson learned from my sister - the one in DC.

If you are not getting at least 75% as much pleasure from this infinite loop as motl, for no more than 25% more effort and frustration, everyone - even you and motl, who can kep this up forever but does get stale, you would do well to pull out and start a different infinite loop. Even tennis eventually finishes.

Abortion is very much self defense. Pregnancy is a huge deal for the body and can often cause complications or even permanent damage.

If self defense is outlawed, then only outlaws will commit self defense.

i dont think potential life is life. so if the "baby" is just a mass of cells with no brain it's not a baby. i think this gives you plenty of time to stop the potential life. on the other hand if you wait until its kicking you from the inside, too bad you should have gotten tested when you were raped.

And the gestational product at 8.5 months is only potentially a baby, it has not been boren.

And the infant at 6mo is only potentially a child, it can't talk like a human or ride a tricycle around the block.

And the child at 5 is only potentially a human, he cannot reproduce nor earn a living.

And the 15 year old is only potentially an adult, he cannot give [we are told] informed consent nor does e adequately understand the world.

And the 30 year old is only potentially an elder, he has no grown children and is not initiated into tribal affairs.

And the 50 year old - well, really, he'd rather past it. Wise, maybe, but no strength to carry through.

And the 70 year old is more potentially a corpse than he is a human

Why should we see any one of these steps as more important than any other? Surely we are not basing decisiuons purely on our own coinvenience without principle.

Why is a cluster of cells less than a person? Because it cannot think or feel. It has no conscious life.

Is an acorn an oak tree? Just because an acorn can potentially grow into an oak tree when planted, it does not mean that it currently is an oak tree. For the same reason, just because an embryo can potentially develop into a baby, it doesn't mean that it currently is a baby.

A sperm is potentially a fertilized egg which is potentially an embryo which is potentially a fetus which is potentially a baby which is potentially a little girl, which is potentially a teen. Potentially a woman. Potentially a pregnant woman. Potentially a mother. Potentially a mother and a son. Potentially a whole matriarchy. Potentially the Germans potentially the city in which Hitler was born. Potentially Hitler.

Would you contribute to the birth of Hitler?

Edit: Since I am a man, any grape or piece of food I might eat, may potentially be metabolized and result into the fabric of a sperm, which as you know is basically a baby. Please give me free food or else babies will die.

Abortion is neither self-defense nor murder. What is being aborted is not human. Period.

The sad thing is, I understand your point and you totally fail to grasp mine.

A reasonable statement, like Vexillifer''s sperm, is potentially a serious and productive discussion, but millions of them fail to find a receptive egg.

so i said, without the ability to have thought and opinion we are not sentient life. and you are saying until a baby passes through a vagina it is not sentient life. the latter makes no sense to me, you just say it as a fact without any reasoning. walking, talking and riding tricycles don't make us human, thought does.

By the way, i consider myself pro life. I just don't think this picture is a baby yet. call me crazy.

There is brain activity 48 days after conception (in spite of what LKL has claimed, the facts are the facts), I've said my stance is once there is brain activity no matter how simplistic, we are dealing with another human being's life.

Abortion is not self-defense, it is murder plain and simple, the child did not ask to be inside the woman's body and intends to leave as soon as he/she can do so safely.

While women here are claiming they have a right to choose what's going on in their bodies and whether or not they can have an abortion, sorry but while you have rights to your body, you don't have the right to murder a child whom is not your body and happens to be stuck in your body for 8.5 months through no fault of his/her own. Your rights end where the child's rights begin, the child has just as much of a right to live as you do.

As for the claims the child is not a person, what makes you a person then?
