Obviously, we are not on the same page. :?

Teaching history is one thing.
Blaming all people with caucasian "blood" is another.

Humiliating people is abhorrent.
Teaching people to hate is indefensible.

The concept of "Original Sin", as an example, is a nonsense.
It is intellectually cringe-worthy. 8)

We are on the same anti woke, anti critical race theory page. I am against banning hateful ideas such as “anti racism” training. When anti woke people favor banning critical race theory they stoop to the level of the people they oppose and help the cause they oppose.

The problem is, teachers spreading political spin in the classrooms to impressionable children whose brains haven't fully developed reducing their critical thinking capacity.

Brainwashing Morals/values education should be left to the owners parents of the children, not to the government's Ministry of Truth. 8)

Facts!

I don't understand how being against woke censorship but also being against CRT is contradictory. Could you elaborate?

I agree with some aspects of CRT….but not the extremist tenets (e.g. that merely being white makes you the oppressor).

I believe systemic racism still exists, but the situation is getting better for at least some of the “oppressed.” More work needs to be done, though.

History is history. We enslaved black folks, and we kept them down after slavery was abolished through Jim Crow laws, especially in the South.

Basically, Critical Race Theory is “critical” of how, historically, the white majority oppressed minorities.

I agree with that—but I also believe that such things as affirmation action, ideally, will be an historical relic.

We must deal with each other on an even basis—we are all of the same species.

Yes, my Mom works at an elementary school, and they have active shooter drills.

"We, whiteman?"

Someone made a great point, not so long ago.
The Onion Union defeated the south to free the slaves.
How many "whities" lost their lives for the cause?
Have people forgotten that already? 8O

The concepts of "Collective Guilt" and "The Sins of the Father is Inherited by the Son", is a ludicrous idea. :lmao:
You would have to be a fool to embrace such nonsense. 8)

There's also the added complication (conveniently ignored by many) of the "Black" slave owners - how do they figure in CRT and "reparation" calls?

I feel like we should “lift a finger” for black folks.

My hope is that “affirmative action” becomes unnecessary. It’s a paradox, in that it both helps and hurts its recipients.

I think it'd be pretty cool to live in America. I'd have to have plenty of money though and a nice pad. Preferably in New York City.

The trouble is is that no one would be able to understand my northern English accent so I'd have to repeat myself quite a lot and then I'd end up just coming back home and after that I would decide that I'm actually glad that I don't live in America.

This leads to an interesting point:
Should we "lift a finger" regardless of the "black folk"'s situation, so those in the higher classes receive the same assistance as those who are in the "lower class"\poor?
or
should we "lift a finger" only for those "black folks" who need it, and not those who are already at a certain level, ignoring the equal needs of those of other races in that same (or lesser) position?
or
Should we ignore the person's "race" and instead focus on the individual's needs, so those most needy (regardless of "race") receive the assistance?

Over here our governments set aside assistance for the Aboriginal people - "lifting a finger" for them. Sounds good until you realise that this assistance goes predominantly to those middle-class Aboriginal people in the cities who are already at an equivalent position to those of other races, whilst those who really need the support in the outback communities see much less of the "assistance".

Or take Canada, where "assistance" is set aside for the "first people", yet many of those people are still without clean drinking water because the assistance is directed to more "publicly visible" areas rather than those "out of the way" people with much greater need.

If you look like Cheryl Cole then I'm sure it'll make up for it if you happen to live in New York.

Sadly I'm Welsh and look like a plank of wood so I'll also have the same problems living in New York.

Oh ... I see what he is saying.

He is saying that "Woke cancel culture" is a form of censorship. But banning the teaching of CRT is ALSO a form of censorship.

So ...if you're against censorship of one thing, but for censorship of the other thing its hyporcritical. And hypocritical a certain way...in showing that you're racist.

Regardless of where you stand on... the MANY issues intersecting in that statement (race, racism, censorship, education, etc) there IS a certain logic to what he is saying.

Ha Cheryl Cole, I wish.

I look like a plank of wood that's been bashed with an axe at the moment.

I'll save NYC from the horror.

Axe wood is the most coveted type of wood in New York. Being a concrete jungle where dreams are broken, there's something you can possibly do if you're willing to pay out 70 dollars for eating out. Alicia Keys is a lying b*****d.
