Apparently Boris Johnson is going to enter the leadership election to be Prime Minister again. This election will be completed within a week and voting only includes 0.2% of the British public.
This is madness!
Yes it's bonkers. I don't think they'll actually pick Boris again so soon though, he's probably still too toxic since Partygate etc. I think he was an aberration (among other less complimentary things) - they were struggling to find anybody electable from the moment Cameron quit, and clearly they're struggling now. They're very divided.
You'd think so, and hope so - but two comments on that:

A memory loss example in action:

Johnson has a mandate - Wallace
Let's get a bit more about why Ben Wallace is "leaning towards" supporting Boris Johnson to return as prime minister.
The defence secretary explains Johnson won "a huge majority" in the 2019 election and that he was "legitimately sent into Parliament as the prime minister based on the vote of the whole electorate".
"He got a mandate and I think that's an important thing for all of us to bear in mind," he adds.
Incredible.

Never mind all that other stuff that got him kicked out.

Here is our list so far of how many MPs have backed them:
Rishi Sunak - 45
Boris Johnson - 24
Penny Mordaunt - 17
Semi-related - a really creepy Johnson deepfake -
