You don't think that Palin was at least partly responsible for McCain's utter failure in 2008? You're probably correct that a great VP candidate won't put you over the top, but I think a bad choice can seriously hurt you.

I believe Palin was a hailmary pass from McCain. She was announced shortly after President Obama gave his acceptance speech in front of about 50,00 people in a football stadium and that scared McCain to the core and he tried to shake things up with Palin. He would have lost anyway as the economy was going into an historic recession...

Totally tragic, but pales in comparison to the invasion of Iraq. Seems like Republicans have blinders when it comes to their own errors which killed thousands of US troops.

ABC/WP always are biased against Trump since going back in the primary, none of the polls are accurate right now since their sampling and methodology is wrong.

Exactly. When UK left wingers, anti-Trump agencies, Bernie fans keep asking on various issues why the polls were "wrong" or "what went wrong" because the polls "predicted" a different result, it's simple - nothing went wrong. Saying something doesn't necessarily make it true, and nor does making a poll biased for confirmation's sake reaffirm what the general public are likely to think/do/vote.

EDIT: At best you can rely on exit polls which are more representative of votes actually being cast during the process. People. Not everyone gives an honest opinion on a poll for many reasons.

That's hilarious. Weren't you all over the polls when they showed Trump in the lead? Which polls did you cite then?

Well to his credit, he did say "right now", perhaps his claim is they changed their flawed methodology that week Trump [won the nomination and got the natural boost that comes with winning a nomination] was in a dead heat, and then changed the methodology back to it's flawed design [after the natural boost dissipated into the numbers Trump has consistently polled in general election match-ups since last summer].

In the UK there is a theory that people told pollsters they were for remain when they actually voted for leave out of fear of bieng perceived as bigoted. If true that could mean the Trump is more popular then the polls show.

Somehow I don't think Trump supporters are ashamed of it.

It's true - especially in college campuses. Hopefully the truth will come out on election day.

This is the phenomenon called "preference falsification":

(In addition to the many leftist calls after Brexit to disenfranchise the segments of the population that voted "wrong," keep an eye out for similar calls to do away with the secret ballot.)
