I think that's pretty much how the first American Civil War started. The South was a very poor part of the country and they felt that their economy was being threatened by the North. It really wasn't all about slavery like most people think it was there was a lot more to the war.
With all the tension in the air and a bad economy that doesn't seem to be getting better it has me worried because I feel like most wars usually start off that way. I mean we might even have a World War 3, you never know.
It won't be divided by states though.
The main areas where a war like this would break out would be starting in New York City, Los Angeles, and perhaps Washington D.C. Not against other states - but against people within their own states that they consider to be "better off." Then the inner-state war would spread from there, for example inspiring the people of Georgia to rise up against the rich people by them. Rather than states going to war, it'd be poor people attacking and killing anyone who owns "property."
It won't be exactly like this, but it does give a general notion (see from 3:29 onwards) :
As said, this is the war I'm (as well as fellow plutocrat friends of mine) are scared s**tless over.
There have been growing whispers ever since 2008 that have been building since then. Ironically many anti-fa and alt-right align with their hatred for the rich or "elite" just right now they're fighting and branding each other (which won't always be the case). With the possibility of another economic collapse that could be even worse - that would light the fire that is already there.
Historically, America wouldn't be the first country where the poor united and sparked an insurrection.
Here's history on one of them, "Peasants Revolt," which occurred in England:
https://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/medieval-england/peasants-revolt/
Isn't that kind of like what happened to France during the French Revolution?
Basically the poor got sick and tired of starving to death while people like Queen Marie Antoinette and King Louis the XVI were sitting in their nice cushy palace living the high life so they overthrew the government and killed anybody who stood in their way?
If there was ever a time when an insurrection would have happened, it was the 1930's.
We are not nearly in the same boat as people during the Great Depression.
I don't believe there will be a "race war," or any sort of "war."
I believe, like always, that there will be many pissed-off people----but that fact won't lead to an insurrection.

Yes. The Dark Knight Rises was inspired by 'A Tale Of Two Cities' which was set during the French Revolution.

Currently people believe that the next Recession could be worse than the Great Depression. Not to mention the Great Recession was only 10 years ago, thousands if not billions are still trying to move on from it since it was the worst economic plight since the Depression. Those who experienced the Great Recession were also kids and teenagers who saw their families being destroyed - thus, this hitting them again wouldn't look pretty:
Quote:
Experts warn the next recession will be 'worse than the Great Depression' and predict it will hit US within two years as $247trillion global debt outdoes 2008

When I was monitoring a counter-protest message board to see what was going to happen - since there were threats from the far right about another Charlottesville near me - I saw and had to talk down an anti-fa member who wanted to go in starting violence. A teenager whose main reasoning was the hardships that the rich had placed upon his family - they weren't after the far right per se, they were after "the elite." Ask others that question and you'll find that they likely agree as per their reasoning, same thing with the far right - people hurt for money and wanting to tear the system down. Charlottesville may have looked like left vs right, but it was at the core poor people fighting poor people over the anger that's been building for years - since for now the system has led them to believe that each other is the "elite."

I just don't see it going on like this forever.
When poor people wake up to realize they've been duped into fighting each other, where do they turn their anger then?
(I should note that - since I am a plutocrat - I don't want this to happen since my family and I would be in serious danger; however, I also wouldn't be the least surprised if it does)

Yeah it’ll be a quick civil war the left will surrender at the first shot.

Narrow minded thinking like that is why it will be so easy.
The left does own guns and not all soldiers and law enforcement are Conservatives - my second path if not for film was the FBI and I'm as far-left as they come.
Not to mention soldiers go to war to protect the country - when a small group of rednecks band together to take on most of the people in the country in an attempted coup; all I gotta is - I'll love watching the fireworks.
This was how the West was won. Union vs. Confederates (lost the first time) and Nazis (lost the first time) - it's like something out of a bad 80s action movie sequel in which the villain from the first movie and the villain from the second movie pair up to try to take on the hero in the third since they ran out of ideas.
I’m sure moms demand action, newtown for gun safe, Bloomberg, and other gun banning groups have lots of guns lol.
I said most are and there’s a lot of veterans who are heavily armed and willing to train others and some whole job in military was training small groups to take on their government.
You honestly think most the military will kill their family friends and fellow soldiers for the left who calls them deplorables?

It'd be a short war.
No offense, but if anything these years have showed me why the Union won the war.
Trump's soldiers are those still waving the Confederate flag - old, fat, lazy, insane, and lack any sense of tact.
Meanwhile anti-Trump consists of - youth, agility, brawn, and wit.
It's a no contest. They may scream that they have guns, but it take intelligence and endurance to win a war. Both of which Trump supporters have yet to show they have anything resembling. Simply put - the only "capable" soldiers Trump has came to Charlottesville, the rest look like Trump; meanwhile, they're taking on most of the country lol. It's not something to be afraid of.
Right has all the guns and most the military is conservative
Left doesn’t believe in guns and is terrified by the sight of them
Yeah it’ll be a quick civil war the left will surrender at the first shot.
Ahh you might be surprised, I am not terrified by the sight of guns...they exist whatever. I suppose I would be more terrified by a madman, with a gun shooting up a large area. But what is all this talk of civil war anyways? I don't want any part of shooting my fellow citizens but if it really comes to that well I certainly am not going to lay down and die so I'd have to fight. I have shot a gun and was able to hit quite a few targets...the targets being the lights on an old string of Christmas lights, so quite small..this wasn't shooting plates on a log. So that was fun, not big on guns but it would seem its not impossible for me to hit a specific target.
Spooky and others on the left are imaging a grand civil war where the left wipes out and kills all the right, but the right is way way more armed then the left and has way more trained military people then the left. I just find it funny a bunch of sjw who freak out at the slightest issue taking on battled hardened military veterans in combat.
The left wants to ban guns most wont touch a gun, I have 10 guns meaning I can arm 9 people. It’s be like Canada trying to fight a ground war with China, China has way more guns and Tripp’s then Canada.
I just find it super funny the idea of new town for gun safety fighting a civil war against the nra. Shouting love trumps hate while being shot down won’t do anything.
I’m neither right or left but if such a war broke out I’d side with the right.
It won’t happen the people in charge of the left know it’s be a huge loss they want to disarm everyone for this reason.

They wouldn't kill their own families nor would their families partake in an insurrection over an orange turd getting impeached like the right keep threatening. They are welcome to try it. But, it'll just be them vs a whole bunch of government agents and soldiers who have prepped to take down a coup no matter which wing it comes from.
The right have been fantasizing about it for decades since they're still butt hurt over losing the Civil War - so far, nada.
Most soldiers are not nor align with Timothy McVeigh despite many on the right continuously wishing they were.

I hope it is the whole western seaboard. I so want for California, Oregon and Washington to join up with BC.
That’d cause a civil war at federal and state level. Each state would be split fighting each other and the feds would send in troops to support the stay group, leading to all those states being handed over to the gop at the end of the war, so I say yeah let’s do it.
At very least we get the be states of south/east Oregon and north California
Much like how we got West Virginia

You don’t understand or know the military at all. All my military friends and their family would fight agains the left in their stupid power struggle. They conservative not liberal and call liberals liberals and snowflakes
All my friends are in the military or veterans. They would absolutely side with trump over the left any day. So go ahead rise up and try to remove trump with force don’t expect the military to side with you

Immediately, under Canadian currency, rents would skyrocket to even higher levels than they are now. It would be a much more expensive place to live in.

Half don’t even like being under Democrat’s at least in Oregon.

Nobody's talking about removing Trump by force. Impeachment is not by force. The right continues to threaten to use force if he's impeached.
So, all you have is the narrow group of your friends? I hate to break this to you - but friends stick together because they think alike. So yeah, obviously, they're going to agree with you.
In the North we know soldiers as well who see Trump supporters as backwater hicks, hillbillies, and rednecks who can't even string a sentence together if their life depended on it. That doesn't go to prove nor show anything.
Also this side of the right calling for a "civil war" - the people who are actually pushing for that want their fabled "race war" (not civil war - race war) and anyone would have to be cracked in the head to think many people are going to help with that.
As said, soldiers are not a bunch of Timothy McVeighs, thank God.

May we see some Timothy McVeighs? No doubt, but most soldiers just aren’t that way.
As said, any threat they’ve made about a “civil war” or “insurrection” is just going to be terrorist attacks and an increase in hate crimes.
Don’t get me wrong, that’ll be a nightmare- but, it wouldn’t be a war, there’s just few people who support Trump.
The war they’re looking to start anyway isn’t really a “civil war” - conservatives vs liberals - it’s a “race war” that they’ve been threatening since at least the 60s. Could it happen? Possibly if the attacks are violent enough. But that alone would severely fracture the military and there too - I’m not afraid of their side since there’s few of them in comparison (most of the country is different minority groups; which puts them at a disadvantage because in this fabled “race war” it’s white/straight/Christians against literally everyone else).
As said there is a different war building though - the poor vs the rich. That’s the war that scares me.

I was predicting how a "civil war" might evolve. I think a slide into violent anarchy is more likely.
I think there are too many people that take false comfort in the fact the US has pulled itself out of much worse situations and come out the better for it a number of times. That is no guarantee of anything. In life, the more risks you take the greater chance there is of accomplishing more than you would have otherwise. There is also more of a chance you will make a choice you can't recover from.
On the other hand, I wonder if people are too comfortable with social media and trolling to want to or be able to risk losing everything on any type of mass scale.

Agreed:
(1) Far Right looking to start their race war - killing and attacking minorities and blowing up buildings they deem a "threat."
(2) Radicalized minorities including women rioting - LA Riots, Stonewall, Black Friday combined.
(3) Peasant Revolt 2.0 on U.S. soil.
All of which are balancing on the brink. It's too messy to be a war. Just - as you said - violent anarchy and chaos. There's way too many motivations and different groups that could escalate things.
This is the modern Rome burning.
