And, the elimination of public smoking makes my life much more enjoyable.
For whom? If smokers go to an outdoor place in the open fresh air away from any non-smoker how are they making your life less enjoyable? As long as they police up the area and dispose of all butts cleanly what is your complaint?

That they may do.
However, many smokers have little respect for themselves or anyone else.
They carelessly discard their ashes and butts, and don't care if they cause a forest fire or not.
Some smokers even don't smoke in their own homes. You can see them standing in their garages, or back porches. They know that their cigarette smoke will foul up their homes, and make them less able to sell. But, they don't mind fouling their own bodies.
Really, only very dirty and vile people would want to smoke, anyway.
the only people lacking decent human respect is those that enforce their views on others without any consideration but themselves.
i find that kind of behavior a very disgusting and deplorable human behavior, best avoided by respectfull and honest people.
to think that smoking has anything to do with what respect you show twards concept x is ridicoulous, smoking has been used for many things.
no one is claiming it is healthy but it isnt your right to impose, ridectly or through psychology and shame, your unfounded views, nor is anyone entitled to "not be bothered" by others.
