We never assumed that you would be having sex, sweetie.

Despite our intellect we're still animals. Our urges won't go away just by ignoring them or being mindfull of consequences and eventually we'll find a way to rationalise fullfilling those urges. Everyone knows overindulgence is a bad idea and can lead to serious health risks, but we still have alcoholism, obesity, etc. All it takes is an unmet desire for otherwise intelligent people to act irrationally.

PS: The legal drinking age here is 16 (for anything under 22%).

When I was a kid in high school, I and my friends drank, even though we were hardly supposed to.

Masturbation doesn't?

Apparently not, though maybe they're not exactly sexual urges and have more to do with romantic desires. Often those two go hand in hand.

hehehehe you said hand.

There is another one too. The fact you are doing it hand in hand explains why it is not satisfying.
But I did not want to be crass so I did not say that one.

A quote from Nikos Kazantzakis' Last Temptation of Christ may be in order

Quote:
An old fisherman heard all this and shook his head. "This is what happens to those who don't get married", he said. "All they want to do is save the world, by hook or by crook. The sperm rises to their heads and attacks their brains. For God's sake, all of you: get married, let your forces loose on women and have children in order to calm yourselves."

So, unless a young man lets loose his forces upon women, the sperm will rise to his head and he will go crazy.

Another part of the book deals with Jesus in his youth:

Quote:
"I would like to ask you one thing more: Jesus, have you ever slept with a woman?"

"No," the youth answered softly.

"And you don't want to?"

The youth blushed and did not breath a word, but the blood was throbbing widly in his temples.

"You don't want to?" the old man asked once more.

"I do," the youth answered, so softly that the rabbi could hardly hear.

But all at once he gave a start as if he had just waked up, and cried "No, I don't, I don't!"

"Why not?" asked the rabbi, who could find no other cure for the youth's pain. He knew from his own experience and from the multitudes of those possessed with demons who came to him cursing, frothing at the mouth and screaming that the world was too small for them: they married, and suddenly the world was no longer too small; they had children, and grew calm.

"It's not enough for me," the youth said in a steady voice. "I need something bigger."

"Not enough for you? Well, then, what do you want?"

...

"What are you thinking about?" asked the rabbi. "Why don't you answer me?"

The young man burst out. "Do you believe in miracles, Uncle Simeon? I believe in nothing else. One night I dreamed that invisible enemies tied me to a dead cypress. Long red arrows were sticking into me from my head to my feet, and the blood was flowing. On my head they had placed a crown of thorns, and intertwined with the thorns were fiery letters which read 'Saint Blasphemer.' I am Saint Blasphemer, Rabbi Simeon. So you had better not ask me anything else, or I will start my blasphemes."

"Go ahead, my child--start", the rabbi said tranquilly, again taking hold of his hand. "Start your blasphemies and relieve yourself."

"There's a devil inside me which cries, 'You're not the son of the Carpenter, you're the son of King David! You are not a man, you are the son of man whom Daniel prophesied. And still more: the son of God! And still more: God!"

If Jesus had gotten some sex during his lifetime, then Christianity might be very different today.

Also, regular coitus can help protect against prostate cancer.

Wow, and I thought I had a knack for seeing sexual innuendo in everything. I take my hat off to you, sir.

Well guess I've got a lot more self-control and willpower than most people here.

If you choose to abstain then good for you. However, to expect everyone to do the same is unrealistic. Not everyone believes in abstaining from sex until marriage.

Then they should be prepared to accept potential the consequences of having to go out and buy diapers for the new bundle of joy on the way.

Or they could use contraception.

Or, the man could simply avoid ejaculating in the woman's vagina. Pull an Onan or something.

Man you really don't know much about biology.

Anyways, if you have sex period, you should be prepared for the consequences.

Just use birth control and a condom and the only consequences of intercourse you need to be "prepared" for are pleasurable
