The rest of you -- you just make your atheism look like a joke, merely something to troll people with.
I am sorry but I fail to see any reasonable argument from your side. And honestly, without any trolling intentions, I would really really love to. I fail to understand any faith at all - it is so odd to me that it hurts. And it hurts even more when I look back at history and see all the evil that came from people blinded by faith. And when I look how religious people are holding back science. And how they are trying to deny evolution, women's rights, freedom to choose, homosexuality, right to abortion...And how they argue which one of gods is true one, how they quote something from the Bible to prove their point to someone who does not validate Bible as a source. Now I am not saying that some of this applies to you/or that it doesn't - I am just trying to paint my perspective on religion. I wish I was so outspoken that I could sum it up in fancy terms. Luckily I avoided religious propaganda while growing up (and ignored political one).
So could you please help me to understand it in such terms that would enable me to (
without quoting Bible, that is)? The way I see it it all boils down to cultural circumstances one was born in, is absolutely relative and ir is impossible to prove/deny(I'm not sure about the latter one). It is much more close to an imaginary friend which's power is actually quite great on the person than something that is stated in one of those books (psychology is amazing - it explains the phenomena of faith quite trasparently).
I certainly don't need a lengthy story, just please entangle this perpetual contradiction for me. On the other hand I would gladly hear your stand on which is the true religion, atheism, agnosticism, science, evolution, possibility that religious people might be wrong and idea of what counts as a valid proof - maybe religion doesn't need one? How so, then? Why isn't it relative then? This is just so puzzling.
