This is like the utmost justification for mandatory taxation.
Tennessee needs to add a firefighting tax and force everyone with a home to pay it.
[["Will just not end fires of homes that did not pay the fee"]] is a non-solution. It destroys the image of the fire fighters. And it is VERY risky. I mean, what about there is a home next to yours, you have paid your fee but your neighbor didn't. A fire starts in that house and then bang! Since the fire fighters don't help it, your own house is at a huge risk. By the time the fire starts consuming your own house, it is already too late and even if the firefighters try to stop the fire it will become hard because the fire is much larger than when it started in the other house.
It would be better if the fire department was funded through private sales. What kid doesn't want a nice shiny fire truck? Sell enough of those at 19.95 a pop and there's the budget for each year.
Capitalism works. It would work for the banks and their customer base if it were a capitalism system instead of an oligarchy run by the politicians.
