I'm in an interracial relationship.

If the woman I am dating thought, for one minute, that I was with her simply because of her race, she'd punch me right in the face, and I would deserve it.

People fall in love with who they fall in love with. There should be no promotion, nor discouragement, from without. It's a decision to be made by the people involved -- and no one else -- and, if it's going to last, there had better be better reasons than skin color.

So for purely scientific reasons, it's a good idea (even if socially it's not all roses)?

I wouldn't say that it's a good idea for 'scientific' reasons, but it is a good idea for genetic reasons in terms of long-term (ie, over many, many generations) evolutionary fitness and immunological vigor; as you indicate, that completely ignores the sociological aspects of the question. I am unqualified to speak on the latter.

I'd say, and this is outright racism but also outright truth, that these things depend very much on the ethnic groups you select. It is a measurable fact, unfortunately, that some ethnic groups have several times as much risk of debilitating or even lethal medical and psychological conditions, sometimes latent and sometimes active, and are on average significantly less intelligent. It was said even by respected medical authorities, between the lines, that mixing that material into any other ethnicity would simply damage the other ethnicity because their risk of mental retardation, schizophrenia and even some lethal medical conditions is simply much, much higher and their average intelligence is known to be lower due to the extreme prevalence of mental retardation and inbreeding.

Basically, many ethnicities just have a lot of genetic material that's been damaged or ruined.

It's settled: get rid of Caucasians, they're too inbred!(/sarcasm) (there's as much genetic diversity on the continent of Africa as in the rest of the world combined)

There are some governments (Singapore, Korea, possibly Japan) that are trying to increase the birthrate. The love of money has supplanted the love of fellow humans. I think that they are trying to promote marriage, followed by vaginal coitus.

And in Japan, the people are so culturally shy that many have given up on finding a mate, making the birthrate of the future look dismal.

Well, we "Caucasians" apparently have some Neanderthal ancestry.

That's a whole different species, you know. African Homo sapiens apparently didn't breed with Neanderthals.

I can still remember back when I was in college when the consensus was that Neanderthals were sub-human creatures who couldn't compete with us modern ubermenchen.
My anthropology professor had had enough sense to disregard that foolishness.

Why are the Neanderthals no longer around?

Look in the mirror, and a little piece of Neanderthal ancestry will look back at you.
Modern Homo Sapiens very probably came to outnumber the small Neanderthal population, and simply absorbed those who might have survived being bred out or purposefully murdered (which seems to be a failing of us humans).

I am talking about full blood Neanderthals with barrel chests, short legs, elongated skulls and arms twice as thick as yours or mine. I am talking about the Neanderthals who never produced any artwork. Where did they go and if they are gone, then why?

If you can locate one, I think the scientific community would be salivating with glee.
As for the charge that they had never produced any art work - while that has been the standard pitch by anthropologists and archaeologists, I recently saw an article in a science magazine (I'm afraid I don't recall the name) that argued some cave paintings and jewelry seems to predate the arrival of modern humans, and could possibly be attributed to Neanderthals.

Perhaps the Soviets had an experiment to recreate Neanderthals through selective breeding?
