The religious right has declared "40 acres and a mule" to be the equivalent of communist Fidel Castro land reform.
The Jubilee laws provide for both land reform and slave emancipation and wiping out of debts.

Conservatives do not believe in following the Jubilee laws because the former slaves are dead.

No, I was actually referring to the religious right equating the promise of 40 acres and a mule to communism.

Wakey, Wakey. The Yovayl (Jubilee) was ordained for Israelites. The command of the schmeetah (freeing of servants and forgiveness of debt) was strictly for the Jews, not mankind in general. Do not confuse the mitzvot (the commandments) given by Moses to the Israelites as general commandments for all mankind. The set of laws that apply to all humans are encapsulated in the Noahide laws.

Both of these issues are dead, and therefore irrelevant.

No, conservatives do not believe in following the Jubilee laws because they were meant solely for the Israelites, not us gentiles.

It's now the 21st century ... would you care to catch up with the rest of us?

The Marriot Hotel chain has taken in Mr. Romney, and given him employment

http://news.yahoo.com/mitt-romney-rejoi ... Q--;_ylv=3

So, no-one need feel any pity for him at all.

The Marriot Hotel is unique in providing its lodgers with a copy of The Book of Mormon to put them to sleep.

Yes. Just check the drawer next time you stay in a Marriot. It is there, together with the Bible.

It is no more galling than the Gideons putting a standard KJV in the night table drawer.

No one is obliged to read it.

What I do is underline and annotate all the blunders, errors and inconsistencies so that the next user of the book can get a heads up on the nonsense. I also leave a note that says: "God may very well exist, but He sure did not write or dictate this bullsh*t"

Do you actually do that with the Book of Mormon? That is already so dull, tedious, and poorly written that I don't know how anyone could bother with annotating the blunders, errors and inconsistencies.

the late comedian steve allen wrote a book detailing some 5000 or so errors in the KJB.

The marriott family is mormon. So the fact that they place a book of mormon next to the gideon bibles in thier lodgings is not surprising. Nor is it either particularly good or bad.

Erols video was owned by a Turkish family, and they had tiny selection of turkish films in their stores ( or thats what a turkish coworker told me).

I hadn't known they were Mormons.

I do it with the Gideon KJV. Putting holes in the KJV is like shooting fish in a barrel.

The Book of Mormon is a palpable fraud.
