Sincere believers brainwash themselves. I used to be one, so I know what I am saying is true.

Me too.

And even though I've long ditched the Christian faith, I still feel a bit brainwashed by some of its traces at times.

Frankly, the Islamists have lost my sympathy anyway, given what they have done to genuine Islamic holy sites across the world - beautiful buildings and places of worship (and I don't care what religion they represent), and the time and effort that went into making them has been extinguished by human vermin.

They are doing that in Mali now. Those islamist rebels have destroyed graveyards and mausoleums for being in accordance with their version of islam.

Well you did say there is no such thing as fundamentalism in Islam and if anyone who has a 1% dissagreement with the prophet mohammed is a disgrace to Islam. So in that case organizations like Al Queda Hezbollah Hamas aren't fundamel Islamists. Killing non believers and suicide bombings and such just because others don't believe or follow it. This includes such people killing other Muslims as well just because they don't follow the extreme path.

And that's putting it mildly! salad, do yourself and Islam a favour and stop digging. There's a good chap.

All that you're is proving to us with you're comments is that, for many Muslims (and yourself included), Islam is a deeply totalitarian belief system and political religion that, yes, wants to dominate the Earth and that pathologically cannot accept criticism and that any criticism and questioning, no matter how respectful and mild, will be met with conflict and violence. The simple fact that it's so dangerous for non-Muslim scholars to question the life and early history of Muhammad sort of bears this out.

Congratulations salad, you're defending a totalitarian personality cult based around a religion.

Do you mean that Muhammed's communication with God somehow transformed Muhammed into a morally perfect person? Or do you mean that God chose a morally perfect person to be his messenger?

Also in Islam we love all the Prophets and insulting any Prophet is forbidden and a vile act.

In Islam, a Prophet is a messenger of God, right? A mere human that God has used to deliver a message. It seems counterintuitive that a Prophet himself should be sacred. Surely it is the message that is sacred?

This is especially weird coming from a religion that has the concept of shirk. It sounds like you are placing humans on a pedestal that should be reserved for God. Muslims claim that Christians indulge in shirk, but Christians have the excuse that they believe that Jesus actually is God. What's your excuse?

Wouldn't praising a prophet more than Allah *god*be considered Idolatry? Hence even possitive drawings of Mohammed being forbiddden?

I'm guessing Mohammed (Pork Blood Upon Him) was simply using his "god" as a means self-promotion, just like any other hypocritical busybody in any other religion. At least other busybodies normally have the decency not to participate in human trafficking and child rape!

And much of what Muhammad did - like fathers marrying off tiny wee girls - is still quite 'happily' being done by Muslims in Arab countries who use the excuse that Muhammad married a child, so so can they.

If I had lost my marbles and gone tooled up and committed a massacre at a local primary school (for instance) I would be both a vile and insane man.

Worshipping Muhammad PBUH is a sin, however we should definitely admire him and all the other prophets as the greatest human beings to walk this earth.

As in a Muslim. A Muslim who is even 1% ashamed of any of the Prophets is disgracing Islam. What I mean is a Muslim who tries to hide Muhammad PBUH out of shame is a phony, because there's nothing to be ashamed about of having him as our Prophet. It doesn't mean we should go killing people who don't like the Prophet, but it also doesn't mean we should not be angry if he's ridiculed. As Muslims we need to be angry if our Prophet is made fun of, but terrorism isn't a solution. Instead we should educate the masses on the biography of our Prophet and attract them with the beautiful stories of his character, like the stories I posted that no one even bothered to read. Why don't people look at his honesty, his generosity, his forgiveness, kindness, his piety and devotion, his simplicity and frugal lifestyle, etc. His biography is crammed with the most beautiful of characteristics and honorable traits and actions and sayings, yet the critics overlook such lofty character and fixate their attention on whatever even virtually appears to be a "barbaric, radical and filthy" human trait, and rant on trying to depict him as a subhuman. I've done research on the Prophet, read his biographies, and learned about him, and from what I've learnt he seems like a magnificent character and a great human being. Why doesn't anybody pay attention to these hadiths:

http://islamgreatreligion.wordpress.com ... rue-story/

http://www.islamicrenaissance.com/blog/ ... -of-honey/

http://www.islam-guide.com/ch1-6.htm

http://asad123.com/2008/03/21/favorite- ... -upon-him/

http://www.iqra.net/Hadith/sifat.php

http://islamgreatreligion.wordpress.com ... rue-story/

http://www.islamicity.com/articles/Arti ... C1202-5006

So yes, I love him and am proud of him as the greatest human to walk the Earth. Read his biography before judging him, I read a 3 volume biography of him and am proud to say that he's my Prophet. Why don't you read his biography with an open mind rather than skimming it at 100/mph trying to find as many errors as you can. You don't pick and choose, if you are to judge Prophet Muhammad PBUH by the hadiths, you have to use ALL the hadiths, meaning all the stories and hadiths regarding his character, modesty, kindness, generosity, simplicity, etc. I posted these but no one bothered to read them. That only testifies to your ignorance and hypocrisy in judging someone you know barely anything about.

The stories I posted, if carefully read, will mesmerize the reader and entice the reader to the wonderful character of our Prophet. It will fill the reader with awe and make them want to learn more about him. Please, read and ponder these stories and hadiths before posting one more negative comment about Islam, Muhammad PBUH, etc. I posted a few of the MILLIONS of Hadiths regarding his beautiful character as a sample, trust me there are way more stories that can't be told in even hundreds of websites, that can only be learned about by reading his biography. Why don't you look at what famous non Muslims, most of whom are intellectual open minded and fair scholars, have to say about our Prophet.

When did I say that?? I said Muslims who are ashamed of our Prophet are disgraces to Islam and total sell outs. You get upset when I misquote you, yet I see several pages of you and your "gang" completely misquoting me and playing with my words. Stop assuming things that fit your bandwagon idea of us Muslims being barbaric murders who are intolerant to questions and criticism. Insults and cretinism are different in extremity.
