...and Fnords, do not be intimidated by them.

And just for those with closed minds on this thread:

Quote:
“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.”
― Albert Einstein

“Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
― George Bernard Shaw

“If someone is able to show me that what I think or do is not right, I will happily change, for I seek the truth, by which no one was ever truly harmed. It is the person who continues in his self-deception and ignorance who is harmed.”
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“Minds are like parachutes: they only function when open.”
― Lord Thomas Dewar

“It is a narrow mind which cannot look at a subject from various points of view.”
― George Eliot, Middlemarch: A Study of Provincial Life

“It's okay to disagree with the thoughts or opinions expressed by other people. That doesn't give you the right to deny any sense they might make. Nor does it give you a right to accuse someone of poorly expressing their beliefs just because you don't like what they are saying. Learn to recognize good writing when you read it, even if it means overcoming your pride and opening your mind beyond what is comfortable.”
― Ashly Lorenzana

“Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.”
― Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man

“It is never too late to give up your prejudices”
― Henry David Thoreau

“It's a fact—everyone is ignorant in some way or another.

Ignorance is our deepest secret.

And it is one of the scariest things out there, because those of us who are most ignorant are also the ones who often don't know it or don't want to admit it.

Here is a quick test:

If you have never changed your mind about some fundamental tenet of your belief, if you have never questioned the basics, and if you have no wish to do so, then you are likely ignorant.

Before it is too late, go out there and find someone who, in your opinion, believes, assumes, or considers certain things very strongly and very differently from you, and just have a basic honest conversation.

It will do both of you good.”
― Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration

“The mind that opens to a new idea never returns to its original size.”
― Albert Einstein

“Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won't come in.”
― Alan Alda

“Despite my firm convictions, I have been always a man who tries to face facts, and to accept the reality of life as new experience and new knowledge unfolds it. I have always kept an open mind, which is necessary to the flexibility that must go hand in hand with every form of intelligent search for truth.”
― Malcolm X, The Autobiography of Malcolm X

“Flexibility requires an open mind and a welcoming of new alternatives.”
― Deborah Day

Whirlingmind, do you actually agree with the statements made by CAL_1138?

Are you just taking an oppositional stance for some other reason?

I have not seen you provide any supporting information or corroborate these arguments.

I read about a study where left brain dominant people were tested and they would LIE to themselves if they didn't know the answer to something.. they would lie to themselves and pretend they did know it in their mind and respond as if they did...

I think this the key to a lot of the hyper skepticism we see in the world... thankfully there are some right brained people around.. lol

Or maybe you just made that up in your ultra-creative right-brain together with the rest of your crackpot theories.

Nope... that was from a real study. But I read about it awhile ago so I don't know if I can find it.

Funny how the skeptics think they are flawless... remember when some skeptic posted a list about "conspiracists" and it said they were arrogant? Projecting?

I'm always skeptical when proposed arguments fall apart when questioned.

That was a conspiracy. Remember: the whole peer review process is corrupt.

I didn't say it was a peer reviewed paper. ;)

That's probably why it was buried..

Maybe the illuminati is full of left brain people..

What I find incredibly odd though is how left brain people seem to take it personal when someone has a different opinion and demonize them... it's truly bizarre...

It's especially odd here because that is how aspies are treated for being different. Maybe we need separate sites for different levels and types of aspies?

To some, a single question is enough to falsify thousands of years of scientific investigation.

For the rest of us, nothing is falsified until it has failed repeated, objective, empirical testing.

Unfortunately, the "theories" of conspiricists either can not be tested, or their failure is seen by the conspiricists as further "evidence" of a conspiracy.

Conspiricists are best ignored.

Not true in my case... but to test it you need to use government owned particle accelerators.... if the government is suppressing this information how do you propose doing that?

It's also funny how thought experiments were good enough for Einstein yet you scoff at them and seem to not use them yourself... was Einstein incompetent as well?

Thought experiments are valuable for playing out scenarios in one's mind and they are very valuable to scientists in formulating theories. The next step after doing thought experiments is to formalise those thought experiments with mathematics and science then test those theories in the real world and obtain repeatable results which can then be checked and verified by other scientists.

All you offer are thought experiments about speculation that cannot be tested or you claim is covered up. Your complete lack of provision of anything remotely testable in your conspiracy theories is why everyone is ignoring your posts. You might consider yourself to be the new Einstein but you don't give anyone here that impression. You just seem to be obsessed with a fantasy conspiracy theory that lacks any basis in reality and you just go around in circles moaning that nobody takes you seriously... because you offer nothing to be taken seriously, just hyperbole, speculation and more outlandish conspiracies.

You are looking at passing clouds and seeing animals in their shapes, believing they are real and you complain that the rest of us don't see those animals or take them to be real or that governments (wordwide) are somehow conspiring against us seeing those cloud animals.

Normally I would prefer to see reasonable process applied to determine truth or falsehood. In this case that point has not been reached.

The arguments are based on flawed works, when questioned, details are ignored and the subject is repeatedly changed.

It seems that connections made between these 'linked' topics are fantastical fabrications but receive the title of 'discoveries'.

When these issues are raised, the accusation is made that the questioner is 'too closed minded'.

I feel this is the ultimate example of an argument failing apart when questioned.

Not everything is so cut and dried.. and your scenario makes little sense when the powers that be control the system that would do that... that's the point. So how do you propose going through those steps when the system is blocking you?

There is a tremendous responsibility with this information.. AND this information requires a lot of study... you do not know the ins and outs of this.. I am trying to solve these problems myself.. they may not be solvable. You say I act as if I am the next Einstein.. that's not it at all.. if I was I wouldn't need help. You seem to forget I am looking for help...

You sound like you are projecting to me.. you don't know what lies beneath the surface of all this. I understand a bit though.. because as I have said I struggle getting information out.. if I didn't I could do this myself. But I also think that might be why I discovered this.. because my strengths are in taking in information.
