It would be like joining the Mafia so you can wear a sharp suit; or getting yourself sent to prison because you like wearing orange.

Its more like eating rat poison to kill the rats. Or getting yourself thrown into a North Korean concentration camp as way to loose weight.

But really the religion is in collapse, its membership is very low, maybe 10 to 15 thousand and falling.
At some point some of there leader will be prosecuted and do jail time, I think this is likely outcome.
My opinion is the church may be financially insolvent but is concealing this too, most likely using leverage and fraud to continue to operate.

You are doing lots of theater work now? This is a must, the community theater. A part time weed delivery job in the Hollywood area, at least you would have a chance of meeting real people in the business.

It's not any worse than the other religions which all tend to be scams. Most churches around here have service a few times a week, send the offering plate through a couple times each service and don't really seem to do much else. The Baptists are really into ministries and those are more about reaching out to people. I have not been too impressed with attitudes of many Christians. It just shames the ideas of Christ imo. I know in my heart he would never act so stupid as many Christians. It's really sad and disgusting.

I live in Southern California, I am physically close to many of the CoS locations. I have had direct contact with the victims, particularly children. The bad stories are true, I have personally seen this. No other religion operates anything like this that I have personally encountered. CoS in its current form is self destructively toxic and toxic to its members too.

All these characters were founders of cults with extremely devoted followers led by extremely controlling leaders. In my opinion they all have the same kind of intelligent. How is this related to the singularity. A dangerous AI (Artificial Intelligence) would be just like these cult leaders having the unique ability to hack the human mind to get them to do things they would never normally do, an adaptive mind control cult AI.
A common narrartive is the risk of the artificall inteligence robots will decide to kill all the humans. But I propose the AI will get the humans to do it to themselves.

As far as religion goes and being a celeb, all you have to do is not be a Christian.
