the most I can hope for, as an average American, is the lesser of two evils, and if that lesser evil is named Clinton, then so be it. I am not crazy enough to want a sure disenfranchisement should shrub II win this round.

there is literally no difference, two sides of the same coin

I beg to differ, should the GOP win this round [I am betting on it] then my affordable health care will be taken from me. that is a FACT coming straight from the GOP mouth. and there will be NO equivalent replacement program. THAT is a fact. I [and 10s of millions of other working class folk] will be effectively disenfranchised. this will NOT happen should a democrat win, in that PPACA will be maintained.

Jeb Bush is as big government as any Democrat

he'd expand Obamacare before getting rid of it

It doesn't matter whether they are Republican, Democrat, or something else -- it always irks me when people use names like that to run people into the ground. I'm clearly not a fan of President Obama, but I would never consider calling him pet names to run him down. For that matter, I can't think of anyone in this entire country who I intentionally called names in that manner.
Why do you feel such a need to refer to President Bush as a shurb? Do you really have such a hard time showing respect to people?

molly ivins is the one who coined this nickname, "Shrub : The Short but Happy Political Life of George W. Bush." is that any worse than "slick willie"? IOW, give me a break, for Christ's sake.

I always heard Clinton referred to as "Sick Willie" as well as "Cl!t-tongue", by my more red-necked friends.

and your right-winged friends probably think it is perfectly ok to refer to Clinton that way, but perfectly wrong to call their hero shrub anything other than his given birth name while on bended knee.

Acrually, these friends were followers of Ray Gun the Moronic. They felt the Tree was too slimy for their tastes.

I also must confess to referring to Clinton in the same manner, especially since I was working for the DCSOPS at the time, as well as the Lewinsky affair happening about the same time. Remember, I'm an equal opportunity despiser of politicos.

N.B. Tree is a bit of drum corps humor. When the Drum major of the Santa Clara Vanguard called the group to attention, the mostly male corps would respond back "Bush", while the mostly female color guard would respond "Tree." Also note the hint of sexual innuendo in those responses. 8)

well I can respect that they had their standards at least. when I was in the army they made us march in formation while singing highly risqué "jodies" about fighting on the Russian front in a Yankee form of rhyming slang.

And that makes it acceptable?

Whenever I see someone referred by an insulting nickname, I tend to think far less of the person calling them that. As far as I'm concerned, it shows a distinct lack of class and self respect by the person who somehow feels it necessary to run other people down.

I know that I seem to get much more respect when I show respect to others.

Meanwhile in statewide offices. The Democratic control of both chambers got wiped out in several states and reduced in others to one house by Republicans.

one more reason to "flyover" those states, AFAIC. a house divided upon itself can't stand, and we are increasingly riven by class and race. it's not looking good for the UNITED states of America.
