I seek out literalists to try to heal them of their immoral thinking.

God is as you describe and quite vile yet poor thinking literalist idol worshipers end up adoring that vile and evil God.

I want to help them find a moral God.

That would be the Gnostic Christian God that they rejected when killing us and burning our scriptures..

There could not be such a creator so it must all be a lie.

If God is all powerful, then he has all the power so there cannot be any left for you and I to use to live.

That is the problem with using made up terms like Omni-potent that do not apply to a God.

When we created the Gods we should have thought more of the impossible attributes we were giving our creation.

Jesus indicates that angels are below mankind. We can be his brethren and he is above angels so that we that we are also.

That's in the Vatican from the Renaissance. How is that an actual reflection of the ancient text, which does not make Satan a woman, which had been conceived of thousands of years before?

Seems, as is usual, that the church does not care what is written but are more interested in vilifying women, as is their misogynistic custom.

Here are a few of the many quotes I could show.

The second century St. Clement of Alexandria wrote: "Every woman should be filled with shame by the thought that she is a woman."

The Church father Tertullian explained why women deserve their status as despised and inferior human beings:

"And do you not know that you are an Eve? The sentence of God on this sex of yours lives in this age: the guilt must of necessity live too. You are the devil's gateway: you are the unsealer of that tree: you are the first deserter of the divine law: you are she who persuaded him whom the devil was not valiant enough to attack. You destroyed so easily God's image, man. On account of your desert that is, death even the Son of God had to die."

The sixth century Christian philosopher, Boethius, wrote in The Consolation of Philosophy, "Woman is a temple built upon a sewer."

In the tenth century Odo of Cluny declared, "To embrace a woman is to embrace a sack of manure..."

St. Thomas Aquinas suggested that God had made a mistake in creating woman: "nothing [deficient] or defective should have been produced in the first establishment of things; so woman ought not to have been produced then."

Logical. Men and women are quite close at the brain mind level.

We do have our own ways though.

If M L had not turned to being a Gnostic Christian after all that nonsense, I would not have any respect for him at all.

Of course what Luther wrote about women - as what he wrote about Jews - was nonsense. He lived in the 16th century, after all. I challenge anyone to find someone from that period of time who hadn't written or said something nuts back in those days.

In terms of religion, no argument.

Science was beginning to take off though and much of what we know started in those times. The printing press was the trigger for much.

Without the printing press, the Protestant Reformation would have been dead in the water, as vernacular language Bibles which had spread Protestantism could never have been mass produced.

Hard to say. I think that the world might have been fed up with Catholic lies and deception by then.

No press would have slowed progress but I do not think it would have killed it.
