For clarity, the catilyn custome is for adult men, not for kids. The smallest size is waist 36.

Sorry, I automatically assume Halloween is something for kids, not adults.
In that case... well, adults can pretty well do anything they want, as long as it's not illegal. That said, if they dress as something racist, or something else offensive, well, as adults, they need to accept the consequential social criticism brought about by their choices.
I would not be caught dead in public wearing that... at least not before I put on a proper girdle, some decent makeup, shave the legs, some nice hose, stylish pumps.....

Ok. Side story. I some years back, a friend of mine decided to crossdress for a halloween party. I couple of young attractive female friends immediately adopted him as their "project." They helped him everything from shave his legs, arms and pits, to trying out their dresses, to perming his hair (it was already quite long), to constructing his balloon breasts. IT was an educational experience. What he learned was...
1. If you want to be fawned over by multiple women in their bedroom and in a state of semi-undress, this is the way to do it.
2. Far from being offended about "objectification," he was constantly talking the women down from dialing his "tart" factor to 11. In the end, they settled around 7 or 8.
3. Runs in stockings suck
4. Getting fake nails off is a bear.
The best part was when we brought pictures from the party to work and one of the local young republicans kept pestering him for his sister's number.

This.
People who twist themselves into knots being offended over other people being offended by things cause my irony meter to explode.
Whining about whining is still whining.

I think you summed it up nicely. As humbling as it might be.
One thing we have to realize is that the internet exists now. We used to have a fairly small circle of friends, and may one of them would get all worked up over funny things, or have ridiculous theories or opinions. Now if somebody says something particularly ridiculous on the other side of the world, it's libel to become a meme and we'll hear about it. It's not necessarily that the PC patrol is any more numerous or more powerful than they ever were, it's just that they're voiced propagate and echo far more effectively.
Ironically, it's those of us complaining about it that are probably most responsible for helping it propagate.

You hit the nail on the head.
When I was in elementary school, we were allowed to dress-up for Halloween, but we couldn't come to school in costumes that depicted murderers (Freddy, Jason, ect). I thought it was dumb, but it didn't irreparably damage my childhood psyche.
Nowadays, something like that would probably hit social media and start a big argument with people on both sides of the debate making a much bigger deal out of it than it actually is. Personally, I just ignore these tempests in teacups because I'm against giving stupid people undue attention.

Whining about whining? That's a silly dismissal, if you are allowed to criticize then people are allowed to criticize you. The difference is with the PC police is that they actually have teeth and destroy lives/careers, the biggest reason people wear offensive costumes in the first place is to shock the bleeding heart ninnies which everybody besides them finds very amusing. People really need to stop getting offended on behalf of other people, you speaking on someone else's behalf as if you're an authority is even more offensive. Let people speak for themselves.

Haloween is supposed to be fun dont let the PC losers ruin your fun just go all out and have fun its the only day of the year you can dress up like a jackass, *with the exception of conventions and costume parties* its bad enough religious ret*ds want to try to ban Halloween.

Sigh. I realize this thread may just be someone trolling for a fight, but...41% of transgender people attempt suicide. Roughly the same percent of homeless children are LGBT. Not because of any mental illness of theirs. Rather it is because of the way people treat them for being different. Bullying, on the other hand, *is* a mental illness. Several really, depending on the actual causes. For some reason compassion is not valued much in some portions of our larger culture.
What you ironically call "PC" is really just another name for trying to stop bullying. You are claiming the right to treat others with cruelty even after being told it is causing harm to them, either directly or indirectly.
I don't know your reasons. For some it's based on an insecure assumption of racial or gender superiority, for others it's just because the person feels the need to make someone else feel bad, anyone else, to make themselves feel better (hence the, "we were just having fun"). Either way, it is ethically and morally wrong.
Children are accepting of transgender class- and playmates. It is their (typically, but not necessarily conservative Christian) parents or grandparents that teach them hatred and cruelty for those who are different. Halloween doesn't have to be a vehicle for adult insecurities and need to be cruel.
It's incredibly sad to see this sort of behavior on a forum dedicated to those who have themselves been treated so poorly for being "different". It wasn't so long ago that autistic people were normally treated the same way that people on this thread are treating those of other gender identities and races...
Dear sweet Jesus nobody is trolling for a fight, but of course you would see it that way. Its Halloween for f***s sake. Dressing up isn't theental illness nor is it bullying. Making a huge deal and needing therapy and whining over somebody else's Halloween costume is a mental illness though. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. You might want to dress up as " proportion" for Halloween because that is certainly an imaginary creature for you.
For real, get a clue and learn what is and isn't something to take serious and stop trying to lump everything in with actual serious and harmful discrimination and bullying. Its Halloween. Its a costume for fun. People need to stop whining over things that are harmless and also have no malicious intent.
Why am I not surprised to see one of these here?
You should take your own advice with regards to your deep butthurt over the rebel flag. It`s just a rag. Get off of it crybaby.

I'm not at all butthurt nor a crybaby over the flag. Not at all. I'll still wear mine. I will however, point out the ridiculousness of those whiners who are butthurt and crybabies who have hissy fits over it. How exactly did you get those two things confused?
Fail. Try again though. It won't bother me. Really.

Not always, although there are some. Also not all PC zealots whine.
Whining is going on and on about how you are hurt by something, or someone else is, and how you are helpless to do something about it. Its keeping on and on about something without attempting to do anything about it. This is my definition of it, not the OED's.
What I'm doing is pointing out the ridiculousness of this PC crap and trying to show how illogical it is.
How will you feel when the PC brigade say that when you teach actors how to act autistic on camera that you are perpetuating a stereotype and call you an "ist"?
I'm against hurting someone's feelings however when we start banning and vilifying everything that might offend others, no matter what the intent behind it is, we are on a slippery slope toward putting everything in that category. No matter what anybody says someone somewhere will find it offensive so we could end up with a greatly reduced vocabulary and action pool to choose our communication from. I don't normally believe the slippery slope idea but look at it. When PC started out it was good. You shouldn't say n*gger or r*yard of f*ggot. Now we are censoring kids Halloween costumes. Its a real slope for this issue.
I'm far from whining. I'm calling for common sense. Those who see that as whining must had a hardon against the use of common sense.

The people that the flag causes butthurt are the people who want to ban it.
OOM doesnt want to ban it and neither do I
You?
I'm saying she cries as much as the PC people do about things SHE DEEMS important. (like when the flag was taken down in SC).
To answer your question, I don't want the flag banned, but I don't want to see it displayed on public property either.
You should learn the difference between crying and bitching. Have you once seen me say that I'm hurt over it? Have you seen me say that it causes me to feel oppressed or that I might catch PTSD from the fact that its down? Have you seen me imply that I might need therapy from its absense? Have you seen me say that poor oppressed me is helpless in the face of those who might deprive me of the flag?
OK then. You have seen me b***h, complain, carry on, ridicule, and point out stupidity, not to mention disagree and debate. Mainly to whine you have to feel that you are a victim. Does that sound like me at all?

Pardon the long post but I'm really curious. What do the "PC police" here, as they're called, think of people who are not black dressing up as Garnet or Sardonyx from Steven Universe?
I'm very confused as to why people are upset with non-blacks cosplaying these characters who are Gems (like the rocks) from another planet. Garnet is coded black (meaning she's modeled after African-Americans) but she's an alien. Her body is not even real. Her skin tone is like the stone, kinda dark red/pink.
Sardonyx is when Garnet merges with Pearl, who is a very pale cream, like a real pearl...
Sardonyx thus is a mix of the two, which again is like the stone:
There are people who are flat out angry and sending death threats because non-black people have dressed up like the two, equating it to blackface. One artist recently was bullied just because she changed Sardonyx's hairstyle (they called it whitewashing)
And I guess she attempted suicide or something because of the amount of hate she was receiving based on people not liking her art style, calling her all sorts of names that ultimately had no basis. I tried to find something wrong, some horrible crime, but I couldn't. She cosplayed an alien villainous character from an anime who was supposed to be some sort of mockery of a weeaboo from what I can find, and these people claimed she was "yellowfacing" because she's Filipino not Japanese and the character portrays many bad Japanese stereotypes.... so can we not cosplay villains now?
There was a post I saw today that said, "DONT!! !! dress up as a serial killer this halloween!! !! ! it is appropriating white culture!! !"
Someone else explained to the confused, "Okay look we (PoC and allies) are always trying to educate yall (typically uninformed white people sometimes PoC) about the dangers of cultural appropriation especially around Halloween with all these racist costumes and yall just laugh and don’t take us seriously so here’s us joking about part of yalls culture: serial killers. Because the majority of serial killers in America and probably the world are white. So satire punching up at the dominating race.
We aren’t saying your all bad but even if yall don’t wanna admit it this is a big part of white culture. Along with mass shooters and serial rapist." (which the stats show is completely wrong... but that's an entirely different post)
So I'm just very very confused as to why people get so frothing at the mouth upset over things like this...

PETA would be I'm sure.
But to bring up what me and you were talking about that gave you this idea, I had meant to mention it here so I will. A few years back one of the trick or treaters I saw was a black kid about 13 or so dresses as a Klansman. It was great. He said everybody loves it. His dad went with that group of kids out trick or treating in case there was trouble but there wasn't. The dad got lots of compliments as well as the kid. From both blacks and whites. The dad was of course not dressed up. The group of kids was mixed.
The only trick or treater's that offend me are the ones in their early 20s who don't even bother to dress up. They just knock and expect candy and don't even have kids with them. I keep a bowl of potatoes and onions and carrots I give them.
