Not even in New York are there people going around confiscating guns.

I work in the criminal justice field.

Quite a few people in New York State have gun permits.

“On Nov. 18, 2013, right here in America, 500 New York residents are being forced to choose between turning in their firearms or becoming criminals. Five hundred letters were mailed out indicating the make, model and serial number of the firearms believed to be in the possession of the addressee’s. The letter subsequently informs the owner that those firearms are not legal in the city.”

“California keeps a list of people who should have surrendered or sold their weapons and sends agents like Richardson to check on homes and seize any weapons that should not be there.”
That’s their only job in a California to every day all day go door to door of peoplemthey decided shouldn’t have guns and take them.

And, apparently, the right of anyone to own as many of whatever type of guns they want tramples my right to life. The latest mass shooter was a mentally ill teenager who was reported to the FBI for making multiple threats about being the next school shooter; however, according to the pro-gun crowd, he should have been able to acquire as many of whatever type of weapon he wanted because it was his "right." As for the "rights" of the kids he killed, f_ck 'em.

And I've already stated (numerous times) the type of guns I would like to see regulated. I'm not going to keep repeating myself while you keep screaming, "YOU WANT TO BAN ALL GUNS!! ! !" And, no, you're not going to convince me that knives and sharpened sticks can cause the same amount of damage as semi and automatic weapons. Civilians don't need semi and automatic weapons, and no, private citizens owning arsenals of god-knows-what will do absolutely nothing to "fix" the government.

You’re more likely to be struck by lighting or win the lottery then be shot.
So yeah freedom trumps your unlikely chance of being shot. That’s how freedom works, freedom comes with risks and dangers, but you’d hate the alternative of no freedom, being told yiu can’t leave your house, what to eat, when to eat. I sing prison but worse. So yes freedom trumps any of our lives, that’s just how it is. Especially when trampling freedom of 100 millions people won’t even do a single god damn thing to make you safer. You have a 0.003125% chance if ever being shot and a 0.000156% chance of being shot in a mass shooting. But yiu have a 0.014286% chance of being struck by lighting, are you worried about that? 0.155% of a car accident. Your also more likely to be in a plane or train accident.

Those kids get the same rights as anyone else. How about you ask why he wasn’t arrested. Why he wasn’t put into nics, why he wasn’t examined by a doctor. Most mass shootings happen due to failure of government to follow proper procedures but you want to regulate more procedures they also fail to follow. f**k thst. Hold them responsible not the 100 million gun owners. Mean rally you want to remove freedoms from 100 million people. Possible make it so the 300,000 to 3 million people a year who defend themselves won’t as yiu put it habe a right to live. Your rights don’t trample mine. My right to self defense is mor important the. Younwanting to feel safer while not being any safer.

But yet the laws your support do just that. So sorry but saying you don’t want thst while supporting people and laws that donjust thst doesn’t cut it. Not any more then but I didn’t mean to kill them doesn’t cut it.

It’s not a bill of needs. But yes we f*****g need simi automatic guns.

I see no point in further discussion with you on this. You’ve been lied to and mislead and taken it in full. It’s sad, but so have many others. I hope we can still communicate on other matters, but this conversation is pointless all I can say is I’ll fight your laws every step of the way and if they get passed I’ll Jon with 60-100 millions others in fighting with force to protect our freedoms from illegal government.

And you've been lead into paranoia and hatred of the government. Frankly, if the government is so corrupt, untrustworthy, and evil, it's a wonder you still accept their dirty money to support yourself.

You may not like criticism of U.S. gun culture, but as mass shootings continue to happen, more and more people are going to question the wisdom of letting anyone having whatever type of gun they want, no matter how screwed-up in the head they may be. And no, you're right to feel safer doesn't trump my right to life (you see, I can do it too).

As it is, you and Raptor seem content to wrestle with strawmen, so, you're correct. This conversation is pointless.

This is for anyone who’s anti gun, go read the actual bills your support. Not just that title, not just the summary, or what the news says, go read the actual bill. It’s public record. They have to discolose and record all prices of Congress so we can see it

Same with the bump stock thing, go read it. It isn’t just about bump stocks.

I feel that you are messing with someone's money stream. The people that benefit monetarily could give a rat's axx how their product is used America is a moneyocracy not a democracy (look who's president). Nothing will change as long as Americans worship money.

Money is why our society is so messed up. But no one cares or wants t try to fix it, simi they say ban guns cause it’ll distract people for a while until the nex mass killing.

Meanwhile our society gets worse and worse.

New York State has about 20 million people. I would venture to guess that at least 1 million of them own guns.

500 people is a drop in the bucket. It's possible that these 500 people are felons.

Yet 90 million people should be made to give up their guns for the 0.0031% of people killed by guns?
Not even half of 1% of Americans are killed with guns.

Read what I write.

I don’t advocate taking away anybody’s guns.

You can keep your guns. No skin off my back.

That wa more towards people supporting awb while saying they don’t want to band handguns while that’s exactly what it does.

Unless you're one of those unfortunate 500 and they are being disarmed over BS reasons.

I believe these people were chosen because they are convicted violent felons.

There's nobody actively going around taking away peoples' guns. No knocks on the door. There's not nearly enough people to do this, should it be so desired.

The most they do here is have occasional "campaigns" where there is an "amnesty," the person turns in the gun/guns to the cops, and the person turning in the gun/guns gets a sum of money.
