Oh and BTW, I never said I believe in UFOs. Just that I believe in life on other planets.

Well no one every said there couldn't be life on other planets. It's reasonable that if life arose on Earth, it could arise under similar conditions in other places.

Alternative explanations for UFOs are numerous. Unknown atmospheric effects, pilot error or optical illusions, mental illness, drug induced hallucinations, ball lightning, lack of oxygen to the brain, brain tumors, reflections, swamp gas, weather balloons, drones, eye diseases, dreaming... I could go on and on. Any of these are more plausible than long distance space travel. The speed of light is a limit on travel, and that is relatively slow.

That's a sack of cold chestnuts mister. I DO in fact hear some people say that life on other planets (iow "Aliens") can't possibly exist. Why? Because they haven't been discovered by scientists yet. And there's a good chance they never will be...

BTW weren't you the one asking how people can believe in something without proof?

The proof that life could occur on other planets is the fact that it occurred here. Could exist is not the same as does exist.

A great many Christians act like they have not heard the story of the Good Samaritan.

My Sunday School Teacher, One of my School Teachers, My Grandmothers, and some random kids from my old school who I used to talk to about it.

I mean really, you guys have never met people who don't believe in life on other planets? :?

I've met plenty of people who don't believe in life on other planets because it hasn't been proven but I've met anyone who said life on other planets is impossible.

They transitioned to popular trendy Jesus while they were still writing the Bible. Imagine that picture but instead of having an American flag draped over his shoulders he's wearing a toga and a sash with SPQR written on it.

Well I have. Granted these people were usually the religous types.

That doesn't surprise me. Imagine how strange it would be for them to believe in God creating life on millions of different worlds. Did the savior travel to each of these planets or was there a different savior for each one? Did they all fall into sin or only some of them? Is Heaven filled with aliens from every world?

On the other hand, for us non-religious types it's not so difficult to imagine that if abiogenesis and evolution could happen on this world then it could happen on other worlds.

I used to be religious, sort of, I was a believer but never really took religion seriously. Thankfully, I got out of that crap a couple of years ago. Those people got on my nerves telling me and every one else that if you have faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed, or however it went, then my prayers would come true. And then when someone's prayers didn't go the way they wanted, like prayers for a loved one to recover but they pass away for example, it was because "they didn't have enough faith" or "they didn't pray enough".

Yeah. There's a few Bible verses about that.

Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my

It looks like Jesus lied about those ones. Maybe he was just trying to get people onto his side by promising them stuff he didn't have the power to give them.

Anyway, this is one of the parts of the Bible that's demonstrably false.

Well, I believe that God DID create, but He also let things evolve.

I can relate to you

honestly I used to believe there is a god but never was religious and never practiced religion. Now if you asked me I would tell you I don't believe there's a god, still not religious obviously more than ever.

I'm not an atheist though as that's a religion substitute I don't identify with.

I think religion is one of the most successful inventions in human history. It did manage to achieve its purpose - which is create divisions between people. I just hate it honestly. While diversity is important sometimes I wish there was never any religion and everybody could just marry everybody and talk freely without the bias and hatred. In modern times the inclination of societies and people to just draw back into themselves is greater than ever, :(
