Our biggest issue at the moment has been the corruption and "state capture" that took place under Jacob Zuma and is now being investigated by a commission.
Cyril Ramaphosa has an opportunity to stand up and be a doer rather than the platitudes and good intentions he's been making in his State of the Nation speeches.

Basically, the UN was on a lower "moral plane" when they established Israel, and threw the Palestinians off their land.
An organization with a higher "morality" would have made arrangements for the Palestinians, too. They wouldn't have acted like conquerors, and throw the Palestinians off their land.
The UN is now outdated and ineffective to start with. It was established at a time that existed not that long ago where the only uncontested superpowers were the United States and Soviet Union. Now that order is fading away.
And vice versa.
It would be the Palestinians' fault should they continue to seek to get rid of the Jewish state, no matter how it was established in 1948. It would be the Israelis fault should they start a fight, too.
We give all other traumatized groups a pass, Kortie. And I want to say that I realize that you must navigate a very personal tight rope, because of your Jewish roots. I don't have those same constraints placed on me. When I think of Scotland, I feel understanding. When I think the Native Americans, I feel understanding. But for some reason, when people think of the Jews, they don't offer them that same level of understanding. When a Jew says, "Never Again," they mean it. Which is different from any other race of people I have ever known. I admire that. I support the Jews doing whatever is necessary so that "Never Again" remains.
Is there still any locale in UK and other European countries that are still prominently ethnic English, German, etc.?

I disagree with how the israeli government is handling their situation with palestine. I think it could probably exist without having to entirely overtake Palestine with settlements. If you want to assume that means I don't think jews exist than that is up to you, but I don't personally hold any such belief.

Of course there is, Hollywood Guy.
There are many locales in England where the vast majority is "ethnic English." Most locales, I would say. Even in urban areas.
Same with Germany.
Same with virtually every country in Europe.
Most people in the Czech Republic are Czech,
Most people in Hungary are Hungarian.
In the United States, the vast majority of people are born and bred Americans.
And yet you're thread title states "In SUPPORT of Israel", indicating that there is some "should be" after all.
But the only one here allowed to say or indicate anything similar to "should be" is you, apparently?
Do you agree that there are some 'rights' bestowed on the victor in every situation? This is not the Miss. America pageant. They don't bestow the crown and then the winner poses nude and gets the crown taken away. Blood was shed and the victor takes the spoils.
If a technologically superior alien race invaded america would you still be on the side of the 'victor'?
Wouldn't you approve of any attempt to defy them?
It's a total mess with intransigence on both sides. Both Palestinians and Israelis deserve and need a homeland . The Jewish settlements help to create a greater barrier to solving the problem .
What was so bad about the boundaries before the 6 days war ?

Nothing going on in Israel compares to the Rohingya Muslim Crisis. Israel didn't suddenly turn on a group of people living within their boarders in an effort to exterminate them. They simply went to war. When war is declared both sides fight and one wins. The Palestinians did not win. They were forced from their land and someone else living there; the original inhabitants. That's what happens when two groups want the same land. If they behave, they can live in relative peace. If they don't behave, they get attacked back. In my mind, the goal in the restoration of Israel, with the help of the UN, in 1948 was always to restore as much of the original boundaries of Israel as possible. How do people think this land was chosen? Are there people who really believe it was random? It wasn't random.
There are a bunch of people out there who think the idea of Israel just sprang up, out of thin air. And that perhaps Jews sprang up like weeds. I'm sorry that the idea of Israel and the Jews is so new for them. But, these are not new people. They've been around a really long time. They've lost some (holocaust) and they've won some (Israel).
My whole point in this entire thread is that there are certain people and groups of people who don't think the Jews should ever win. Those same people and their supporters will call everyone who disputes their hatred as bigoted against Muslims. When in reality, I'm just sick of certain people getting all the sympathy while others get none. You're either a bigot, or your not. And if you say you aren't then support everyone trying to make a way for themselves on this planet, not just a few.
If the Palestinians think they have what it takes to defeat Israel, then get to it. Otherwise, stop throwing rocks and storming the walls and then publishing pictures of themselves with knots on their heads after an Israeli soldier has finally shot someone, trying to outrage the world.
What does Israel have to offer? Prosperity, amazing technology, exports... etc...
What has Palestine ever had to offer, even when they had the land? Constant blood feuds... and Goliath (Philistines) Their biggest claim to fame is converting Oxygen to Carbon Dioxide.
Israel took a sows ear and turned it into a silk purse, because that's what they do. And I believe it's why they are hated so much... envy, jealousy.

Until it isn't. Israel is going to take that land because there is nothing to suggest that the Palestinians want a peaceful two state resolution. The only thing that will stop them throwing rocks and launching rockets would be complete surrender of the entire land back. And Israel will never do that, nor should they. They defended it successfully in the 6 days war and a bunch of rag tag Palestinians won't win.
And the UN will not stop Israel. Watch...

then what are you so angry about?
What did the founding fathers of the US do? They stole land.
What did the Brits do? They stole land.
What makes anyone thing that the Palestinians are exempt, is my other pressing question?
I might feel differently when I'm not so angry. I do hate to see a child suffer. But, G-d D! Palestinians are Muslims, they would not be stoned if they turned to a fellow country for succor.
I guess you missed the part about the Palestinian Christians? You might know a place where a lot of Palestinian Christians are under the illegal occupation, it's called BETHLEHEM.
