Please try to avoid extended commentary on the flaws of other users, either specific or general. If you see someone else doing this and need to get it out of your system then a report is better than a reply.

To date, reports showed no effect.

Discussing whether or not Greta is legit is an excellent way to distract from discussing actual climate change.

I think it's an issue with all kinds of activists.
Activists are not researchers, they typically don't present in-depth, multi-level analyses including many points of view and systematic scepticism required for good research. They usually operate on simplified, often very black-and-white models.
But they get attention. They get discussed. Unfortunately, they often attract much more attention to themselves than to the issue they want to present.
And the more radical or controversial one's acts are, the more attention is drawn - to discussing the acts, not the problems.

I think that the people who dislike Greta are those with the lifestyle that she publicly criticises: those who fly around the world to work and earn large amounts of money, or fly to live in luxurious mansions or go on luxurious holidays, etc. Those people realise: "She's talking about me. She's trying to turn people against me." It's the only logical explanation I can think of. No-one likes to have their way of living criticised. If you were to express dislike for introverted autistic vegetarians on disability benefits who edit Wikipedia, I would not think very highly of you.

On another note, the author of the "Marxist puppet" article recently interviewed a young woman from Germany called the "Anti-Greta": https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/1 ... e-heroine/

Either that or they're paupers who read newspapers controlled by people who live in luxurious mansions.

My fault for the misunderstanding.
I should have indicated the context of my statement with: "<irony/facetiousness>"
I usually do. 8)

A lot of people miss this point.
A lot of people haven't developed critical thinking skills.
C’est la vie. <shrug>

She is just a young person parroting off, presumably, what her parents have said.

Hang on.
This isn't a kid.
I think she is actually a "Little Person" (I hope this is the PC expression).

Hail the new anti-messiah!

Does anyone have the kahunas to criticise *this* denier of imminent catastrophy?

I found someone even worse than Greta Thunberg.

Just watch this video to see how the evil mad scientist, Professor von Schneider mercilessly dispenses with the nobel climate sceptics.

Rationality is irrelevant in this discussion.
Please engage the principle of: "He who shouts loudest wins."

Could there be a possible connection between what you have said and the fact that the biggest emmiters of plant food is Communist China?
I have difficulty understanding why Greta's first port of call wasn't Shanghai. 8O
