Why doesn't God destroy the coronavirus?
I think humans naturally misunderstand the intention of these plagues, divine or not. If God is simply nature (my theory) then he has to sometimes thin out certain living species for the sake of the planet. Humans have gotten out of control abusing this planet and there will be consequences backed up by scientific studies.

Please allow me to play the "Devil's advocate" for God...a role I enjoy immensely!
I just got through reading Charles Eisenstein's 6,000 word essay entitled "The Coronation":

Now, speaking of "entitled", consider this.
So, God says "I have let humanity indulge their desires for long enough and now everything I have given them, they have taken for granted. Every opportunity I have afforded them, they believe they earned or created it. If I cannot make them turn within to find Me, I will make the outside world disappear so they have no choice...some will see this as an opportunity for Ascension, others will see it as an opportunity to make war against their fellow man...those who take the former path shall be saved..those who take the latter path shall not".
God isn't all that loving, forgiving and compassionate humans make Him out to be as those qualities still imply the desire for preferential treatment from something who is supposed to be "All Merciful".
Just look at how nature has been healing since we stopped driving our cars and airplanes around!
"Mankind has been getting too big for their boots.. let's cut them down to size a notch so they can understand what gratitude and humility means."
God.
