Oh yes I see. Interesting. And there is no chance that a gang wouldn't have formed in central American has not sent them back? It seems that there are so many gangs and cartels in Central America that one would have been formed anyway, and that it's inevitable, or maybe not, and that the only one to form would be MS-13?

The people who got deported had what may be called "LA Criminal Savvy." And their moral values were much more decadent than what usually occurs amongst natives of Honduras.

While there may be a lot of gangs and cartels now, were there always? Or is it possible that they might have formed or became much more brutal in response to the arrival of the deportees who had been through the American prison system?

MS-13 was formed in the US, they wouldn't exist in Central America at all had members not of been deported from the US. While other gangs might still exist there MS-13 were the gang that greatly upped the stakes when it came to using brutality to terrorize people.

But I dont' think the formation of a gang is the US's responsibility though, is it? If for example, someone left a baby on my doorstep, and I didn't want to take care of it, or feel up to it, and I decide take it to the a hospital or orphanage, for someone else to handle, then that baby grows up to be a drug lord and form a gang, is that my fault for not making the baby my responsibility?

We didn't say it was the US's responsibility.

What happened is that these LA gang members became influenced by more sophisticated and morally decrepit criminals, and bought what they "learned" down to Honduras.

It's the responsibility of those who gave these LA gang members their "education."

I don't recall saying it was the US's responsibility. That doesn't mean the US doesn't have an interest in trying to improve the situation and that doesn't mean actions the US took didn't contribute substantially to the current situation.

Oh sorry, I thought you meant to say that the reason why the US is taking people in is that they feel accountable about it.

Germany took a lot of migrants from Asia over the past 10 years or so. Especially from places like Turkey and Syria. They didn't feel an "obligation"----but they felt it was the humanitarian thing to do.

Oh okay. As long as they feel they are doing it for humanitarion reasons, as it seems like Biden could be doing this just as a spite to the government in power last year, so as long as it's not out of spite as the reason.

If Biden really did it to spite Trump, I would say he's a blooming idiot....

I’ve read quite a bit about migrants.

Some of it was WWII guilt. 8)

So Biden is allowing more immigrants come in than usual because he wants landlords to get more perks, when it comes to people obeying them? But also, I thought that immigrants wanted to come to America to escape being under control from authority more so. If they are being blackmailed for deportation, than is life really an improvement for them coming here? Also landlords cannot rat out illegally immigrants who are living under them, without ratting themselves out since the landlords would be guilty of harboring illegal immigrants. So wouldn't the landlords just be ratting themselves out in the process?

Some say the Democrats are happy with greater immigration because most of the immigrants are expected to vote for the Democrats in the next election.

Paul Keating did the same here in Australia, from memory. 8)

Bottom line is:

There are 4,000 or so unaccompanied children living under prison-like conditions. We have to do something about that. They don't deserve to live under these conditions; they didn't commit a crime.

Of course not, but what is the ramification of simply literally opening the borders?

These children are being cynically used as the thin edge of the wedge to allow broader immigration.
America is not my country, so I am not arguing either way.
I am simply making observations.

It will be 'interesting' to see how the Democrats handle the situation. 8)

Most countries have immigration quotas.
Is it feasible/practical/reasonable to let *everyone* who wants to migrate into America to do so?
Even the Democrats realise this can't be allowed to happen. 8)

People want to come to the United States to escape their situations in their own countries.

What would you do if you were a Salvadorean who's been threatened with death by a drug cartel? And can't obtain employment? And can't feed your family? Look at it from their viewpoints, too.

A valid point of view, but are you saying there should be no immigration policy?
