I do believe there are careless women who don't treat abortion seriously as an ethical issue and have an attitude to match, i.e "I don't care if I get pregnant, I'll let someone handle it for me if an unwanted pregnancy happens".
I don't see how that's a moral issue; at most it seems like an issue of not considering the future.
I meant that, in my opinion, some women don't appreciate the fact that abortion is an ethical issue, and don't appreciate the gravity of it.
I would say it is an issue of the ignorance of morality in some cases.
Edit: or a willful denial of abortion being an ethical issue.
WTF?

Does my post surprise you? Surely people are aware of the trend of people treating abortions more lightly in the current day. Abortions are increasingly common in the modern day, because people don't care....

How do you know what women do or don’t appreciate? You aren’t even a woman.
It is not a moral issue. Everyone appreciates the gravity of it.

I understand it's your opinion, I'm just saying my opinion is that it isn't an ethical issue at all.
The choice to terminate an unwanted, unviable or otherwise unacceptable pregnancy isn't a matter of ethics whatsoever. One has no obligation to carry a pregnancy, therefore they're not failing in any way if they choose to not carry a pregnancy.
Even if the reason is as shallow as not wanting to be unable to wear a certain item of clothing (or whatever).

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.

It seems like you are basing your views on personal bias. How do you know women are getting abortions because “people don’t care?”
Well, I live in a secular society in the UK and it is not uncommon for women to have 3 or more abortions in a lifetime, even when rape it not a factor or anything like that.
It seems unnecessary to me and frivolous and indicative of a society that doesn't particularly value life.
A person can be pro-choice (after weighing the consequences of not being pro-choice), and still not support abortions, unless they are for the general reasons I described in my initial post on this matter.
Being pro-choice is a necessary evil, in a society that balances free will with the interests of society at large.

Not mansplaining because not invalidating a woman’s experience or making judgments about moral character based on personal choices she makes about her body.

I don't agree that everyone appreciates the gravity of it. You are someone who seems to be reasonably intelligent - there are plenty of people who aren't so clever and don't think through the consequences of their actions, and that sometimes translates into unchangeable, detrimental behaviours.

The reality is that you can’t know what people are or aren’t thinking, so it’s uncool to judge them for the choices they make. Women experience enough judgement over this already.

Oh right.
Well then, I disagree that abortion is not an ethical issue and your opinion seems to trivialise abortion, which was a criticism (of society and people in general) that I was getting at in my earlier post.
I am sorry we disagree on the matter.

A person can use empathy to get an idea of what someone is thinking.
But yes, I agree that the thoughts of people can be nuanced and sometimes defy the initial judgements from a person.

Beyond that, they might be weighing the considerations differently from the person who's casting judgment.
