I really don't have a problem with most religions. Hypocrisy however irritates me intensely.

Why should a wealthy person like Joseph Ratzinger (the curret Pope) tell people to give to the poor and the needy when he wears silks and Gucci shoes? Is this not the gravest and most obscene hypocrisy?

You're assuming all Christians are young-Earth creationists that treat Genesis as a history text. This is untrue.

well no, I don't know much about relligion, cause why would I invest my time in studying something that is beyond belief? The only reason would be to back up my argument, and I think I have better things to do than that

So your plan is to refute a religion you don't understand, with facts about the history of the universe you don't know, which you put in a chronology that is completely wrong, in order to show that religion is beyond belief from philosophical standards you probably have no formal experience with.

Brilliant.

^ What Twoshots said. And seriously, "millions is billions?" Right. Now your basic math skills are also in question. And as I said, you are arguing against one specific interpretation of Genesis that is not shared by most theologians or lay Christians. You are arguing against a phantom that exists only on the outer fringes of Christian belief. Hardly an effective way of refuting Christianity. Your objection has been answered, though you were unable even to understand your objection in the first place so there is little hope that you would comprehend the answer. Carry on with being an arrogant little prick.

Then at least invest your time studying science. "Millions is billions f****r."? What does that mean? No, millions is not billions and the Earth is not millions of years old.

I am not a religious person, but c'mon, I at least understand the point that I'm arguing. Please clarify your stance. Nobody knows what the hell you are talking about.

One must trully understand the point they refute if they are to use critical thinking against it.

millions, billions, whatever. Billions is even worse then! And its maths not math, use our launguage properly please. Haha, now you speaking in riddles, all I want is a simple answer. You sound very much like a politician. So there are christians that have different theories, what does it matter? Its all untrue. Seriously you better watch your mouth, you 18 year old little twat. And you and the other religious people are the ones being arrogant. Who put everything here? not just this planet and the life on it, but everything, where does it all end? Back when the bible was written the world was flat, so the more we find out, the more ridiculous christianity is becoming.

The next f**k tard to make that statement gets my unbridled wrath:

And America has more native English speakers than the rest of the English world put together.

No, you don't know it. You don't even know what you're trying to refute, let alone whether or not it is true or false. Your "arguments" are thinly disguised intuitions. I don't see how you can seriously claim to be the one in the more rational position when you don't grasp basic dialectic.

So use emotions? Instead of reason? Beliefs not facts? I never said God existed, only the process to prove arguments to others, if you are trying to win them over to your way of thinking. I never used such language with you are said your beliefs are wrong.
Don't belive in God? Good for you. Want to convince me in God 's non existence, use crtical thinking.

In the United States, the correct grammar is "math," not "maths," it is a minor differing in dialect much like how we say "elevator" instead of "lift." But irregardless, let me apologize on behalf of all Americans for butchering your "launguage."

Okay, now it has got to stop. Nothing is more undermining of the point that you are trying to make than to senselessly flame one of the most productive members here, one who is a good deal smarter than you regardless of whether you label him and others as "cavemen." You need to know this off, and your whole, illogical, poorly-verbalized spiel throughout these several pages serves as a prime example of why I generally tend to avoid this sort of discussion.

Keep in mind, you can believe in God as a sense of "underlying order" and not necessarily as a superhuman man with a long white beard. We are surrounding by evidence of order and patterns, how you choose to interpret them is up to you, but to believe in a higher power is hardly stupid.

I don't regard it as necessary or productive to continue responding to Benjamin at this point, and would hope that other members not feed the flame-troll.

Just as it was never "millions" of years old. I wish there was an emoticon with a bulging forehead vein.

stupid little american. Its maths you prick! We use maths, its our English language, you speak it. Course america does, cause its a huge country! You've changed our language, you pronounce most words the wrong way. But a lot of our country speaks the correct way :)

I'm just saying religion is a joke, its not even worthy of a general discussion.
