But thats all part of reality.. anyone who believes in things out of the ordinary gets flamed.. If I have to take a bullet for believing in aliens, or the illuminati, and major coverups, then whatever, I guess thats the curse of it all..
Yes, but as I've said dozens of times before, you have to consider the marginal cost vs. marginal benefit of believing in BS. In short, you gain nothing, and lose a lot.
BTW: getting slammed for your beliefs doesn't automatically validate them. You still haven't figured that out yet. If I believed that dogshit made for great cuisine and people verbally abused me for giving them plates of dogshit to eat, that doesn't mean I would be right, no matter how angry they became.

I dont consider myself crazy for believing this stuff.. I want to know your actual thoughts on this one video.. just give me one honest opinion, a small paragraph.

Insults get thrown around like confetti on WrongPlanet. Get used to it.
Nevertheless.. I'm left wondering..
Can this be considered intelligent behavior.. ?
Maybe I will start a thread..
And then we can all discuss it..
For the time being..
Let's try reasoning..
Buddha said:
------------
`If a man spoke harshly to you,' replied the Master, `and you spoke harshly to him in return, answering him point by point with back-biting, what would be the outcome of such words?'
`We should both become very angry,' said the man. `and we might end in blows.'
`You have judged rightly. Would you therefore call such speech blameworthy or praiseworthy?'
`Blameworthy, most certainly, Master. Such words would not make for the well-being of either.'
`If now, your speech were mild and charitable, returning pleasant kindly words for those which were harsh, what then would be the outcome?'
`There would be peace and concord between us, and we might even become friends. Such speech would have made for well-being.'
`You have again judged rightly friend. Therefore out of your own experience you have shown that a teaching which commends gentle and kindly speech, is a good teaching. Now, all worthy people teach their disciples these things.'

well, speaking for myself, I really don't mind what other people believe, and I don't have an issue, I actually found some posts to be funny regarding the reaction towards 911 conspiracy theories in the 911 thread in this forum. In fact, I find these things interesting, I don't believe in them, but still I find them interesting, and well, the 'conspiracy theory' degorative seems questionable, now that I think about it, I mean, I could be wrong, but it seems that someone who just may publicly doubt any oficial story might be labeled as such.
Probably the funniest thing from anyone here is claiming their opinions and views as absolute truth.

But Master! Does not the fire need water too? Does not the mountain need the storm? Does not your scrotum need kicking?

Ah, but the question is, is it right to slam someone for their beliefs? Doesn't this look like bullying someone for thinking different? Would this parallel somehow to bullying or discriminating someone for not conforming to the mainstream status?

Have you read Jonathan Livingstone Seagull by Richard Bach.. ?
It's about outsiders..
People who don't fit in.
Maybe a - Good Books - thread... would be an idea too..
----
"Fletcher Lynd Seagull was still quite young, but already he knew that no bird had ever been so harshly treated by the Flock, or with so much injustice.
"I don't care what they say," he thought fiercly, and his vision blurred as he flew out towards the far cliffs. "There's so much more to flying than just flapping around from place to place! A ... a ... mosquito does that! One little barrel-roll around the Elder Gull, just for fun, and I'm Outcast! Are they blind? Can't they see? Can't they think of the glory that it'll be when we really learn how to fly?
I don't care what they think. I'll show them what flying is! I'll be pure Outlaw, if that's the way they want it. And I'll make them so sorry..."
The voice came inside his own head, and though it was very gentle, it startled him so much that he faltered and stumbled in the air.
"Don't be harsh on them, Fletcher Seagull. In casting you out, the other gulls have only hurt themselves, and one day they will know this, and one day they will see what you see. Forgive them, and help them to understand."
An inch from his right wingtip flew the most brilliant gull in all the world, gliding effortlessly along, not moving a feather, at what was nearly Fletcher's top speed."

I don't care about whether they're 'mainstream' or not. They're observably wrong. That's the point.

What is BS? I mean I have seen some people stating things that they disagree with to be crap, terms like crap and BS seem subjective.

well, in this case, yes I agree, nevertheless, the term 'BS' and also 'crap' seem to go beyond that many times, with just the fact of disagreeing and providing mere opinions. The BS would be in accuracy in this case if it is claimed with much certainty, making an hypothesis and to acknowledge that it might never happen, would not be necessary the case, depending if the model used for it is consistent and follows some logic. I believe.

I don't have to show anything. The burden of proof is on him to show us that a celestial body whose name was crudely misappropriated from Babylonian mythology is headed on a collision course for Earth.

Chever, I don't think you are contributing anything to this thread. You are just spreading your hatred and I don't know where it comes from, but I wish you the best and hope you will stop trying to monopolize this discussion as you always seem to do whenever someone says anything that is anti US government. We have the H.R. 1955 which prohibits us from even discussing this so either go run and call the police or leave us alone. I mean you no disrespect but it is very disruptive.

I'm going to build an underground bio-dome with a self-sustaining eco-system. Then when: - zombies take over the earth, super intelligent AIs start nuking everything, people get infected by alien super-plagues, everbody starts killing each other and we get hit by a celestial body, I'll be okay. I'll survive the coolest apocalypse ever, but that's not the point.
I seriously don't understand why people are so skeptic about "doomsday" scenarios becuase, if they are possible, instead of wasting time trying to debunk such scenarios, people should be trying to come up with some form of solution to either stop these "doomsday" scenarios from occuring or to devise a plan to counter/survive these scenarios just in case they occur.
Entirely possible, quote, doomsday, unquote, scenarios: - (Note: I'm not saying they are going to happen just that they are or may be possible.)
Global Warming. Ice caps melt, screws up the ocean and wind currents. 2nd Ice Age.
Grey Goo. All carbon based life forms are destroyed by endlessly self-replicating nano-machines due to a programming error.
CERN Hadron Collider 1. The "big-bang experiment" causes multitudes of stable micro-black holes to appear. The earth is torn apart.
CERN Hadron Collider 2. The "big-bang experiment" causes the apparation of "strange quarks". The Earth is converted into a Quark Star. Everything is crushed by super-gravity.
In regard to the CERN Hadron collider, all I have to say is this. There is nothing like wasting billions of pounds of money and endangering the world to do something that won't help the world or the people in it in any way shape or form, just to try and prove a hypothesis that previous smaller experiements have failed to prove.
Regarding the ACTUAL TOPIC. I think that Anarchy is a good idea. But like all good ideas, if put into practice some bugger would most likely corrupt and/or twist it to suit their own ends and purposes. It happens all the time. It is called, Human Nature.
Right. I'm off to the kitchen now to go and eat some glass!

Why say a thing like that? Just to be a douche?
...apparently you don't appreciate humor
The CERN Large Hadron Collider will produce black holes that don't have enough energy to power a fucking light bulb, much less swallow up the whole Earth.
Oh yeah and it won't contribute to technology in any way ... just like how Euler drawing a bunch of lines on a paper to prove something about seven bridges didn't lead to the Internet. I guess 'developing nuclear fusion' counts for nothing.
Please research such ignorant statements before you make them. It only takes a little effort not to rankle progress, kthx
