You'd have to be a hell of a shot to get a bird with a .22,they usually flush quick.I'm sure some might be that good.
My ex squirrel hunted with a .22 but he usually got them when they froze.
I'd be sort of worried where that bullet was heading if he missed the bird.I do see doves in town, maybe it was them. They nest in trees so are more suited for urban areas.

You spot them from a longer distance before they become alarmed and fly away.

I have hunted and killed animals. If I ever get to live someplace rural again I'll probably be back to hunting. It's mostly dogs that I have a special place in my heart for.

You don't have to wait for a rural place, Mr. R. My guy neighbor who lives across from me hunts quail right here in the city and skins them in his shower. I do wish he would pick up after himself - I found a quail feather down in the storage room and a quail foot laying by my car door.
My ex friend, Mr Alaska, used to live in an apartment and would hunt moose. I bet he didn't leave any moose feet around like my neighbor. :)

You sure they're quail and not pigeons? I've never seen quail in a city but pigeons are always in abundance.

I've never seen quail in any town, they like open fields and nest on the ground in thickets.I can't imagine they'd survive all the loose cats in an urban area.Maybe it's young pidgeons, some people enjoy squab.I'm more interested in knowing how he's shooting a shot gun in city limits and not getting 5-0 called on him.I wouldn't dress a bird out in the shower,I'd just use the kitchen sink.

I have seen quail and wild turkey in Spokane and Spokane Valley, as well as the occasional deer.

Bobwhite have been on the decline here for years.Feral cats and habitat loss.I used to hear then call all the time as a kid.Ons of my favorite summertime sounds.I raised off around twenty and released then here a few years back but they didn't seem to multiple.Maybe I'll try again this year.
My ex could whistle just like one and lure them up.I didn't release any while he was here,he would have eaten them.
Deer are becoming a big problem in towns here, they've been having archery hunts to cull them.

Dear Misslizard, was your ex a squirrel? :D

We are very useful; you should have organized a nut hunt for your Christmas cake!

Or even a nut roast for your vegetarian friends, if any...

Unfortunately, squirrels take to much liberty in causing havoc at my mom's garden.

He was a wingnut, not a squirrel.Constantly going on about the New World Order, black helicopters and the Chinese invading America.Lots of squirrels here since I divorced him. :D For the most part I enjoy them, but I'm not to pleased when they eat the fruit off my fruit trees.I tried fake snakes,a fake owl and they figured out they weren't real and ate the figs, the plums and the pears. One year there was a mass migration of them and they were everywhere.Ive never seen so many, you could hear them chewing in the trees all around. My corgi likes to chase then,it's fun to watch those stumpy little legs go.Hopefully she will help keep them away from the fruit this year.
I don't mind them eating some of the wild bird seed I put out, they always look cheerful.
Now field rats, they are annoying. They made a huge nest under my car hood and chewed up wires and spark plug wires.Lucky for me it wasn't so bad I couldn't fix it myself.

Just shoot the damn squirrels, then. There is no shortage of them and actually are decent for eating. I wouldn't put up with the mice, either. Two years ago in January they invaded my house and I would hear them in the attic at night. I set out traps and that was the end of that.

I know how to cook them, even people that never had it before loved it.I parboiled them, soak in buttermilk and egg, then bread and deep fry.Or with dumplings. The big round fluffy kind.
I'd rather deter them then shoot them. They won't get in the new orchard I've started on,it's fenced and when the fruit trees get big enough to bear an electric fence will be installed. No trees near by where they can jump from either.I like watching them, saw one escape from a hawk once. The hawk look miffed that he missed.
Anyway,my left eye is dominant and I'm right handed.Ive been advised to use my right eye anyway but that's not working out to well.I don't really like shotguns.I had a filling crack on a pop corn kernel awhile back,I don't want to bite down on a pellet.
I had a field rat get in the attic one winter.Sounded like it was running races up there. It would wait till I was almost asleep to start romping around.I even climbed upon the roof to gain entrance to the attic to combat it one night. Not the best idea.We found its access point and stopped it up with steel wool and spray foam.
All the rat problems go away during snake season. There's a huge black snake that's been here for years,I'd say he's over six foot.

The bigoted and racist Trump continues to move much closer as the campaign season gets ever nearer which, is not a good thing at all, in fact my feeling is if Trump becomes the president there is the strong possibility of having a plutocracy..

Unfortunately, I think we already are a plutocracy. It's just that with Trump in the White House, the facade of a Republic will finally be ripped away.

Black snakes are good at clinging trees,so I'm sure they eat the babies and maybe sleeping adults in nests. The old timers really liked to see a black snake around a corn crib, the rats don't stand a chance.

Bigoted
racist

You should really back up those claims with actual quotations and breakdowns of the same.

So should everyone that thinks he is, actually.

You should also compare him to other politicians that you think aren't, and apply the same standards to the things they've said and done.
