Most age old Abrahamic religions have to, it fundamentally contradicts a key part of their belief system

gay isn't a choice.....it's a natural thing...if people want to blame it...blame it on the mother nature...

Thankyou.
It is neither a 'choice' nor an 'affliction'.
Just a way of being.
That is it. No more, no less.

Meh, i don't care either way, just as long as they leave me alone and i'll leave them alone. It's more indifference on my part.

I've always wished more men were gay - that way there wouldn't be so damn much competition for women. It seems almost every woman has a boyfriend and nearly every guy is single.

Or maybe you could be gay? There would be way more single partners to look for then.

(Sorry, I couldn't resist. 8))

Some people are born attracted to others of the same sex. However, I've known a few who seem to see homosexuality as a social identity rather than mere attraction.

Had a co-worker who claimed being a lesbian. She had been married twice, had 4 kids, and just somehow recently became one. Now, I believe if she was really attracted to women, she would have had girlfriends all along & not just in the past year. What seemed to have happened was that she was recently divoriced, wanted to party it up, & ran into some wild & crazy lesbians. Not completely turned off by the idea, she just jumped on the bandwagon.

That's one case I'd see homosexuality as being a choice.

So let's talk about your case... I'm going to assume you are straight... Can you see yourself becoming gay in order to enjoy (?) the gay lifestyle?

I'm inclined to agree ... if people are born with a strong preference, they are not simply going to decide to switch because they are bored. Perhaps this girl was bi or lesbian, and suppressed her orientation initially, then decided to stop denying things?
