Quite simply, most of the mods here don't know how much they can exercise their authority without pissing off Alex and getting banned and most are already overworked.

I think there are about 100 threads on Intensity bitching about this, although I havent really read them. Who is this "Alex"?

The owner of WP who never seems to be around.

What does he do when he is around? Not let mods moderate? That's stupid.

Moderate, we do. It's banning that's the problem.

Maybe he has things to do?

Uni isnt taxing, and unless being he makes a lot of TV appearences, i doubt it takes up much of his time. It seems he could and should spend more time on this website...

Getting back to a couple of comments on page 5: Some Christians don't think it's fair when their beliefs are 'attacked' by unbelievers, but they want the right to be able to say what they want when they want about them... Where is the fairness in that? Ragtime and JBG are two prime examples, because whenever they put forward an argument about something, and then someone like me, for eg argues the inverse, they cry 'foul' and the supposed 'attacker' cops a mouthful of abuse. Then when I, for arguments sake, bother to stick up for myself, half of my comments are deleted and the other half taken out of context. Now, as I said before, is that fair? Seems pretty damn hypocritical for these 'Christians' to get away with 'murder', and us unbelievers have to cop it for voicing our opinions. But then again, we never expected a Spanish Inquisition....

Well, Sopho is a special case. She lacks the ability to sympathize.

Ah, really? Why are there any special cases?

(I'm being polite, really. She believes in pursuing a no-holds-barred, all-out attack on Christianity, yet balks and protests at me voting against gay marriage. There is no level to which she will not stoop in her insults.)

You can't compare the two. You want to legally prevent me from marrying a woman. I'm not going to vote to ban Christianity or knock down churches.

Well, Sopho. I think the whole 'pillar raised above everything else' was not a good thing to say.

Of course, that's going to be elevated in a thread about gay marriage, for heaven's sake.

(Irony intentional)

What did I say about a pillar?

I was paraphrasing. I was talking about a gay marriage thread where another member was saying they disagreed with you and was saying that they viewed it as against the faith and you were saying they raised it above everything else.

Regardless of whether it was true in everything or not, I didn't feel it was fair, given that in a gay marriage thread, of course that's going to be elevated over everything else.

Same as if you start a thread about 'Thou shalt not steal', that commandment's going to come up most.

Perhaps you should. I'd like to see blood games
again.
