Hamas will never do this. They fire their rockets on Israel while being stationed behind cribs with babies in them. The post themselves in front of hospitals (full of patients) and schools.

I e-mailed the brewery where I fancied drinking the beer and spend most of my time and they answered me, point by point, why their beer seemed so expensive.

This is perhaps the irreconcilable root of hatred from Muslims towards Jews.

This mentality seems to be a common denominator across the pro-Israel lobby though, this sort of racism doesnt help Israel's case.

I don't get the connection between you being Irish and the situation in the middle east. Ireland and England had a minor disagreement towards religion compared to the differences the muslims and the israelis have.

Most Middle Easterners I've met are extremely nice. I've gone into mosques and debated with Muslims before, and they gave me free food. I can think of zero Americans that invited me to eat at their houses, and can think of 3 people from these "primitive" countries that did. I tend to get along quite well with people from Islamic countries, actually.

Do you know exactly WHY they hate Westerners? Do you know why the Iranian revolution happened? It's because we mess around in all these countries, assassinate their democratically elected leaders and cause instability.

The thing is, these Middle Eastern countries only started being excessively backwards, only AFTER we started messing around in their countries. There's exceptions, ie, Saudi Arabia, but even modern Fundie Iran makes modern Saudi Arabia look like Sweden or something.

Obviously, the book was made by the government at the time. Were there backward regions in Afghanistan? Certainly. But there's backward regions of USA, too (think down South perhaps?)

Besides all this, though, why's it matter? For example, Iran. When has Iran gone and invaded anyone in modern history? Besides some slight border dispute type things in Turkey/with the Kurds, they've not gone and went to war with anyone in the past 100 years. But we had Saddam go to war with them because we didn't like their leaders. These Middle Eastern countries simply want to be LEFT ALONE. That's all they're asking, to be left to handle their own affairs, and not have their leaders assassinated over not giving us oil. I'd say that's a pretty reasonable expectation. And for all you people that say "Well, Middle Eastern culture is so bad, we need to save those savages and convert them to our great American culture." BS. Why aren't we going to Africa, then? Why haven't we gotten serious about toppling the regime in North Korea? Because there's nothing in it for us. If we're getting serious about the Middle East, why don't we invade Saudi Arabia? They're most repressive and Islamic fundie out of all the countries in the Middle East. Oh wait, they played ball with us. It's not about human rights and culture at all.

The oppression asserted against the Palestinians by Israel is inexcusable. I can't condone the random rocket attacks from Gaza, but i really can't condone the response to those attacks.

If the israelis want peace, they should be willing to negotiate.

If they don't want peace I invite them to watch "the battle of algiers" over and over until they get it.

Easy solution: If team Palestine stops playing, they don't have to contend with team Israel's "unfair advantage".
