it doesnt sound stupid, the problem in my view is one side is an outright theocracy (gaza under hamas) and the other is a parliamentary democracy with theocratic tenants (israel). Gaza needs to brought under Fatah or PFLP control.
What Israel needs to do is end its indiscriminate, counterproductive military efforts and make it clear to the world and most of all the Palestinians that their greivance is with hamas, not with the people of gaza. They need to work with Hamas's Palestinian enemies to usurp them and reinstate democracy in gaza.
I'd like to see a power sharing arrangement like here in Northern Ireland.
