No, I don't think Christmas must be pagan. Whether Christmas is pagan or Christian is up to one's perspective. This is all subjective at the end of the day.

You believe Christmas is pagan, but other Christians believe it's Christian because they celebrate it for Christian reasons.

Just keep in mind that just because something has pagan elements or origins to it doesn't mean that it itself must be pagan.

If someone murdered 50 years ago, but now is a loving person with a family, who pays their taxes, and is a valuable member of the community, does this invalidate the crime they committed? Are they still guilty of the crime 50 years later?

This is a question often asked in philosophy and psychology classes. Really, there's no objective answer to that. It all depends on what the law of his nation states about this ... AND how it's interpreted.

That said, your question is of no relevance to what is being mainly discussed in this thread.

Kxmode, let me summarize this as quickly as I can:

It is not the rest of the world's fault that you have chosen to join a faith of wretched, sniveling misery, and you have no right to expect that we'll just happily accept your attempts to project your joylessness on the rest of the world. You may have chosen to forsake this world to kneel in the shadow of the next, but the rest of us would like to bask in the splendor of this one. Please kindly shut the hell up and go away forever.

That is all.

As a Bible-believing, conservative Christian, I have to say that I could care less if there are non-Biblical aspects in the celebration of Christmas.

We are celebrating the fact that Jesus came to earth and grew into a man who could and did offer salvation through His death on the cross.

Do I care if the day is exactly right? nope
And I don't think Jesus cares either. We are celebrating Him.

As a mainline Protestant, I say to you: Amen.

I don't agree at all with your theology, but this is the best attitude a Christian could have when it comes to Christmas and other holidays and birthdays.

"QFT" means "Quoted For Truth". It means that whoever posted QFT wishes to emphasise that what was said in the quoted part is the truth of the matter and they wholly agree.

And as this thread will keep bouncing between "yes it is" and "no it isn't" arguments until next Christmas, there's no point in letting it continue and descend further.
kxmode, you've made your point according to your belief and explained your case, as is your right - but to continue pressing it, despite several people explaining why they're not interested, is not acceptable because it begins to look like a denigrating lecture as to how, and what, they should believe.
